Do you love show tunes? Then you will love this event! Houston Chamber Choir and Broadway star Judy Blazer join forces for The American Musical - Live from New York for one extraordinary evening, the talents of the Houston Chamber Choir will perform A Bridge Across Time. The evening's program will include excerpts from early Broadway musicals to more recent shows, including numbers by composers and lyricists such as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Stephen Sondheim and others.
Blazer plans to trace the arc of Broadway from Vaudeville to contemporary music theater. Judy Blazer is a Broadway Drama Desk nominee. Ms. Blazer has had leading roles with the New York City Opera and on Broadway; she has performed in Candide (2008), Sweeney Todd (2004), Titanic (1997), and was featured in the PBS special, Bernstein’s New York. She and Michael Tilson Thomas collaborate regularly in “The Thomashefskys,” a Yiddish theater revue.
