If you catch yourself daydreaming that your stapler and hole-punch are long oars taking you miles past the flotsam of your office space, wake up and smell the great outdoors with this Adventure: 90 minutes of kayaking, freshly grilled burgers, BYOB, outdoor games, and a live band at Clear Lake Park.
Head to Clear Lake Park just off of NASA Parkway in Seabrook, where we'll meet our posse of paddlers and team USRC Rowing Club, our hosts for the kayaking leg. After dividing into groups, we'll sit in on an invaluable safety and technical session that will outline proper form and what to do in the event of an emergency. Then its time to break for the water, taking in the exotic fauna while enjoying the fresh air and marveling over the peaceful views of the surrounding wildlife.
Once we've had our paddling fix, we'll file back to land in an oar-derly fashion and give our stomachs their very own sensory experience at the private pavilion where we'll dine on freshly grilled burgers, pasta salad, chips, and cookies provided by Wild West Catering. But this dream day doesn't stop there: Next up, we'll compete in a slew of outdoor games, using all kinds of props to help us win in contests like corn hole, blongo ball, and more. And since competition is alway aided by music, we'll tune our ears to the Cajun music of Curtis Poullard and the Creole Zydeco Band. Your only daydream at this event will be longing for similar days.
