I-10 EASTBOUND MAINLANES CLOSED AGAIN THIS WEEKEND
"Expect Mainlane Closures At Two Different Locations Along The I-10 Corridor"
(Houston) - This weekend, August 3-5, construction activities along the I-10 corridor will require mainlane closures at two different locations. TxDOT contractors plan to switch existing I-10 eastbound traffic between SH-6 and Eldridge to new pavement. To perform this switch, beginning 8 PM, Friday, August 3 until 10 AM, Saturday, August 4, the contractor will reduce I-10 eastbound traffic in the area from just west of SH 6 to Eldridge to two lanes. As a result of this traffic switch, the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound entrance ramp from Park Ten will close until further notice.
When the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes re-open on Saturday morning, the contractor will immediately begin working on the I-10 eastbound frontage road within the same area. Motorists can expect alternating lanes on the frontage road, and the eastbound exit ramp to Eldridge, to be closed until 5 AM, Monday, August 6.
As part of the I-10/Beltway 8 Interchange reconstruction, the I-10 eastbound mainlanes between Wilcrest and Gessner will be closed beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6 as beam placement continues for the new Beltway 8 southbound direct connector to I-10 westbound.
Additional closures this weekend include:
. TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH 6 at I-10/Katy Freeway overnight beginning 10 PM, Saturday August 4 until 6 AM, Sunday, August 5. Northbound traffic will detour east on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Eldridge and U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to access SH-6; southbound traffic will detour west on the I-10 westbound frontage road to Park Ten and U-turn to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access SH-6.
. Alternating lane closures on southbound Kirkwood at I-10 Saturday, August 4 from 7 AM to 3 PM in order to switch traffic to new pavement.
. Alternating lane closures on southbound Dairy Ashford at I-10 Sunday, August 5 from 7 AM to 3 PM in order to switch traffic to new pavement.
