The Lomax On Lomax Show

Native Houstonian John Lomax III makes his first paid appearance in Houston when he presents his one man show featuring the musical accomplishments of his family, stretching back to his grandfather's first book, COWBOY SONGS & OTHER FRONTIER BALLADS, published in 1910. Lomax performs acapella and will sing cowboy songs from that book, Lead Belly selections, songs associated with his uncle Alan Lomax , aunt Bess Lomax Hawes, brother Joe Lomax and his father, John A. Lomax Jr. The latter was a co-founder of the Houston Folklore Society, still extant as the Houston Folklore and Music Society, which began at the family home at 6428 Vanderbilt, where John III grew up. He will sing @25 songs, the most recent being 73 years old and the most ancient clocking in at around 500 years. Here's the link for tickets. I sure hope to see you there. The MuckyDuck also offers a live stream of the show.

Good thing I like cowboy poetry.  They used to have a cowboy poetry show on KTRH.
