The Woodlands Taste of the Town

Preparations are all but complete for the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce's 22nd annual Taste of the Town.

Lisa Dixon, special events assistant for the chamber, said about 80 vendors will be involved with festivities that start at 4 p.m. Jan. 31 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Tickets include food, beverages and entertainment.

"You go around to all the booths and have of taste of everything," Dixon said.

Appetizers, entrees, deserts, pastries and beverages will be available.

Dixon said most of the participating restaurants are located in Montgomery County.

A silent auction is also part of the event. The auction will include weekend resort stays, golf lessons and jewelry.

The finals of The Woodlands Idol contest will be held as well. Preliminary Idol auditions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The competition is open to adults 18 years of age and older. The $5 entry fee into the contest will benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank.
