Popular Post Yoda
I play soccer on Monday's and Wednesday's across the street at Toros HTX (https://www.toroshtx.com/) and I noticed a sign tonight. I don't remember this sign being there on Monday and I don't see this posted here already. The Oliver @ Sawyer Yards
hindesky
Looks like they picked up the TCEnergy building(Trans Canada Energy or old Bank of America building) and rotated it 90º to face this project in this rendering.

hindesky
They didn't finish erecting the tower crane. I'm assuming that they might be waiting for the aft deck but also they might be waiting for a weekend when all the workers aren't around. It's kind of dangerous to have all the workers there while they send up the jib.
hindesky
I'm thinking this tower crane might be a luffer crane. Still not finished but they are on site working on it.
hindesky
Yes, it's a luffer tower crane. I guess they decided on a luffer because of the silos next door. Otherwise they would have had to make the crane several sections higher. They were threading the block when I went by.

hindesky
I asked the concrete pump operator/driver how much his rig cost, he said $1.5 mil. He was finished and was cleaning it out.

Popular Post Yoda
I play at Toros HTX a couple times a week and I've noticed recently that this is starting to look pretty large and imposing from the soccer fields. It does a nice job, in conjunction with Buff Brew, framing the skyline. I've included a bonus picture of the artwork at Toros which features some of the best number 10's to ever play The Beautiful Game. If you've never been to Toros you should stop by, grab some coffee, and watch some soccer. 11
