not to mention, what about the height factor? since when is being 25 stories.. just too tall being downtown? quite bizarre indeed....

Where are all the gargoyles and other statuary?
somehow, i really do not believe that MARLOWE is in to "gargoyles"....
-
what was the initial inspiration as per the design architect? just think about it, there had to be something that inspired GENSLER to conceptualize the original HOTEL ALESSANDRA design... right?

I don't think you can find a much better location. Its across the street from a handsome HEB by Lake Flato, just around the corner
from The Menil Museum, Cy Twombly Pavillion, Rothko Chapel, Bookstore, Bistro and Park not to mention the future home to the
Drawing Institute, , Imprint, and St. Thomas University. Go farther east and you have Sicardi gallery, The photography Center and A.O.S. and
the Greek Orthodox campus. Just a short bike ride to the MFAH campus. Also the rail will run down Richmond someday. This is an outstanding
location and will be one of the most desirable areas of Houston to live in. Its proximity to downtown, Buffalo Bayou park, Rice U. and the med center also make it the perfect place for this luxury housing.
Its in the creative center of Houston!
actually, i now concur! what was i thinking?

gorgeous illustrations urbannizer! this development looks as though it should be placed around the galleria waterwall district. it is just much to beautiful as per this particular area....

HAIF, has some brilliant members patronizing this fantastic forum throughout!
therefore, may we locate that special member that may be able to name the new forthcoming hotel brand, that shall rise high above the GHP building now currently under construction downtown?
this new / forthcoming hotel brand, shall be officially announced this coming spring.
my choice: OMNI HOTELS

although it reminds me of a house of cards... it looks fun and a bit happy!
i think it shall compliment that particular block / area nicely.
i am also digging the very ultra modern design of the outside awning with the MARLOWE moniker. reeks of cool....

This is my first post here but the old holiday inn building is going to renovated and turned into a W hotel although I haven't heard from my friend if the current economic forecast could impact that decision and delay the project.
oh god, please no! this would kill me....

initially, i was thinking omni brand as per this particular development. however, le meridien is simply the perfect choice high above the GRB.
i have lodged at many of these hotels throughout the middle east, and i really enjoy their courteous staffers / services.
houston, is getting it's groove back....

with as many new apartment / condo / loft developments rising up all over the cbd district, any clothing store (especially a female clothing boutique) would have to be crazy to just up and depart... unless their lease has not been renewed.
