  1. Hope you enjoy the photos. I was there from approximately 3:00 to 5:00 yesterday then had to get back to Houston. Would have loved to stay until the clubs got going at night but couldn't. Not many people on the streets when I was there. Empty streets seem to follow me where ever I go.

  2. While it will never be very close to pleasing proportions, the cone continuing upwards may serve as a foil that distracts the mind enough to let the strong horizonal shoulder line of the building's unusual bulk to associate visually with the ground from a distance (by virtue of its visually unexpectedly low height below proportion to its unexpectedly broad extent).

Grandeur Park, The Grand new grand plans on Grand Parkway

Kickerillo Cos. has acquired a 100-acre parcel at Interstate 10 and the Grand Parkway with plans to build a 1,300-home community in the growing area.

Houston-based Kickerillo purchased the land from Westside Ventures Ltd. for an undisclosed price.

    ...............

Vincent Kickerillo, CEO and chairman of Kickerillo Cos., has grand plans for the purchased land.

A new development called Grandeur Park will feature 350 townhomes and villas priced from $300,000 to $600,000.

Grandeur Park will be located across the street from The Grand, Simon Property Group Inc.'s newest Houston project.

The Indianapolis-based company, which also owns the Galleria, plans an open-air town center of 1 million square feet along the Grand Parkway and I-10.

The first phase of The Grand is slated to open in 2010.

A rendering of The Grand lists Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Whole Foods as potential future tenants, but Simon spokesman Les Morris declines to divulge further details.

Says Morris: "I can't comment on any current negotiations, so I can't respond about the retailers you mentioned, in particular. However, we are speaking to potential tenants about the site and the interest has been strong."
