  1. the galleria had a mall cinema and it didn't survive due to a bad location (imho). and.........apartments at the galleria would not be some three story ghetto. it would be a mid/hi rise condo sort of development that created a "lifestyle" type of environment that does not distract from the "upscale" concept of the galleria (to use your words). .........."upscale mall like the Galleria" sounds so 80's. this word, "upscale", lends itself to scatterbrained neophytes who drink at the shallow fountain of credit card companies and lounge in the bright shining light of "me-ism". i know this because it was once me. no offense, jj18, but "Ermenegildo Zegna"? nice ads, but sheesh! also, i, a former mall rat, did not spend days at the galleria because of the lackluster, i'll positioned theater. i was at the galleria in order to show off the overpriced clothing i purchased there that i truly could not afford. i do miss those marshall field's sales. i believe i purchased my first armani suit there. nothing fits like an armani my friend, nothing. i digress. any additions to the galleria will most likely follow the current trend of the "lifestyle", mixed-use concept similar to what we see happening at memorial city. it will enhance the galleria experience and not detract from it, "upscale" in perception or not.
  2. i found the link. it explains the possible future of the WAC location. link also, katiedidit, i think that the day camps at the wac are sponsered by interfaith or the woodlands associations. perhaps only the location will change.
  3. check your mail. mine came yesterday. i would love anything even resembling whole foods.
  4. the flyer is as follows: CONSUMER SURVEY the woodlands is not on the whole foods new location website. does anyone know who JLM is, their address is houston? i'm assuming it's a research company what is "wild oats"?
  5. i received another response to my letter today.
  6. it looks like a design for three waterway is on the on the boards. i noticed it on ziegler cooper's website. unfortunately, it looks similar to the other two link to page
  7. welcome to the forum seth and mom22blessings.
  8. welcome to the forum.
  9. colbert would be dead if he lived in russia. i relish the fact that we can ridicule our leaders and get away with it. i don't have to agree with colbert to enjoy his biting humor. great fun.
  10. i have friends coming from vermont, ft. worth and katy. we will definitely have pics.
  11. i like tin star. everything is good at tommy bahama's. menu not needed. beware of the mojitos. easy to down, easy to drown. the goat cheese/sun dried tomato appetizer is awesome.
  12. i so love living here (in the woodlands). the expansive three story modern on the lake is on the market for 7.3 million. the building to the right of the waterway marriott is 21 waterway avenue. this is where brian o'neil's pub and cafe will be on the second level. next to 21 waterway will be 25 waterway, also with retail on the lower floors, and across the street from that will be waterway square by sasaki and associates. i'm so freakin' jazzed! thanks for putting up with me haifers. the most recent figures of resales in the woodlands has the average resale at over 300k. btw, the first annual "woodlands waterway art festival" is coming up may 20th & 21st. the art colony (buffalo bayou art festival) is behind it. over 200 artists have booths along the waterway. there will be street performers, food, etc. ya'll come out. i'll be a volunteer........so you might see me. festival website
  13. welcome to the forum ab4dd0n. btw, earlier in the thread it was mentioned that rancho grande in magnolia was great. my sister, father and mother all enjoyed food poisoning from there last week. the managers were not helpful and offered no apologies or concern. my family had not eaten anywhere else that day and other people at the same table who did not get sick did not eat the salsa. the three people who ate the salsa got sick.
  14. maybe it's because houston is so freakin unique. i choose this town over any other city in the world. when people from nyc or la brag about their towns, i find myself aloof. it's hard to not shoot them down and to remain polite. i remember the first time i visited nyc. i went to restaurants that everyone bragged about. "five star" people said, "best chef in america". blah, blah blah. i've had better service and better food in houston for half the price. houston is the shiite, me brotha. the difference between houston and other world cities is media attention, plain and simple. as far as i'm concerned.........they can have it. i do not want the world to fall in love with my town. my town will change forever if that happens.
  15. sounds like this kid is already living a "painful, meaningless existence". what he needs is a "wake-up" call. what he and his buddy did is horrific and deserves punishment. i can't help but think that they have no idea "what's up". it seems that we are breeding this type of person more than ever. revenge is not a virtue. granting opportunity to get someone's sh** together is. i'm getting sick of this "they deserve it" mentality. this is the same frame of mind that these attackers had. no one deserves to get their head kicked in and sodomized....neither do the attackers. justice is not vengeance.
  16. have you read the federalist papers? the federalists were for states rights and a weak central government.
  17. of the more than 10 times i've been there i've never seen an insect. go figure.
  18. dallas? where is that again? "oh, i pass that on the way to ft. worth." nothing but cement and attitude. "port of dallas" my ass.
  19. great photos montrose. several of the shots are well thought out and well lit. great job. keep 'em coming.
  20. and once again i realize the hypocrisy of my own statements. when i heard the big name sports guy say that he wasn't a role model i was disgusted, when i consider rush saying he's not a role model i'm forgiving (because i like him no doubt). maybe slamming people who are press worthy is simply a bad idea. taking sides certainly isn't productive. GREAT, my 1000th post is a mea culpa! damn!
  21. maybe it's time to write a book or an article editor. leach that crap out of you. if worse comes to worse, unload on haif. it worked for me. the opinions and affirmation i received from haif helped to put things into perspective. empty some pens.
  22. once again, redscare, you give food for thought and make me hesitant to reply to posts off the top of my head.
