  1. it has to do with the transition from coastal soil to a more inner continental soil.
  2. mr. makar had the lead role in the college park hs performance of "anything goes" two weeks ago. he has a great voice and performed well. i think he's a little green, yet, after seeing his interview on fox news last night, he may have the character to rise to the occasion. GO WILL! (get some sleep bayoucitygirl)
  3. bachanon sings......."they call him flipper, flipper, that was his name" (insert dolphin chirping here) welcome to the forum flipper.
  4. Feb. 14, 2006, 8:36AM Residents rate The Woodlands with annual survey Road congestion, growth concerns top worry list The Woodlands received good marks on its latest resident report card, but it still has work to do on traffic congestion, development, safety and contact with the public. The Community Associations of The Woodlands commissions a resident survey every 18 months to gauge residents' satisfaction with services and to identify issues of concern to them. The Woodlands has received consistently high remarks since it began surveying residents in 1996 and 2005 was no exception. Full Story Now, if we could just have a "noise ordinance".
  5. awesome. i might have time to catch end of TKK.
  6. i wonder what time TKK is playing?
  7. i'd prefer cite readers on board. go for wider exposure later. imho.
  8. mbm is less abrasive now than "armed audio warfare". imo, they are electronic/dance and occasionally ambient. i haven't heard the newest cd though. they may have morphed again.
  9. coffee riverrat? i see it's 2am and you must have just arrived home from some serious fun. hope you're sleeping well now.
  10. "therapy" was a seedy after hours club and the bathrooms were basically unisex. the club owner was also an owner or manager of red square. in fact, i think i remember him from nrg too.
  11. i get ticked off when people don't use their blinkers. you're sitting at an intersection and a slow moving vehicle creeps up and turns, not using a blinker, while you wait. i want a sign i can hold up while i wait for some moron to turn that says "got a blinker?"
  12. i had the opportunity to meet dominique de menil, but i scurried off to the surrealist exhibit at the menil because i was not sure why this petite woman standing in the foyer was approaching me. i thought she was some sort of greeter. guess i shouldn't have taken that.......oh well, that's another story. i realized later who she was. i had dinner next to dominique sascha? (the news anchor) at cafe red onion. i danced with andy bell at numbers before erasure was big. i visited with wilson leary (timothy leary's nephew) at a party in montrose. he was/is an artist in austin these days. working with cirque du soleil in 2003 provided zero opportunities to hang with the artists. the roadies and pr people; however, are a hoot. i saw rick perry at a republican state convention and quietly moved away. he smells like aqua net hairspray and suits that need to be drycleaned. he's seems like a manufactured product, scary. i visited with a niece of bob lanier in the women's restroom at therapy. i stood in line at what was then eckerd's drugstore with george mitchell in the woodlands. it didn't hit me who he was until i got home, then i kicked myself for not recognizing one of my heroes. also, i woke up one morning in the late eighties with...............oops, can't tell that story.
  13. no, the city couldn't have done anything different. people who drive an hour to see a ball game have to drive an hour home. on week nights especially, no one wants to linger in town when they have work and school the next day. IMHO the ballpark is a success because i want to go back every time i'm there. if it happens to be on a weekend i will plan my trip around dinner before or after the game; however, half the fun of being in the ballpark is the junk food you eat while you are there. the ballpark is a great amenity to visitors and people living in town in a different way than it is for people who commute to a game. it may have been sold as an economic boost to surrounding areas but it is what it is. i love it regardless, BTW.
  14. YES! nice move subdude. i got your back! watch out for a dogpile. did you delete your post, subdude? in reply to tjones, subdude said "wanna bet?". i agree.
  15. welcome to the forum wyatterp and thanks for the info! we love that kind of insider info!. i do miss metropol. any chance of utilizing the underground space for less practical endeavors?
  16. do you think that the calais or ventana are first rate? museum tower is nice, i'll give you that. perhaps they have something to prove and will top museum tower (with retail on the ground floor). when i read that it was the finger companies, i immediately thought of taupe, beige, yellow or orange fake stucco. yucch! the point others have made about the land value on this block and the necessity of something nice has altered my perception of what might occur here. i still prefer the park.
  17. the last time i saw meat beat manifesto they were with loop guru at numbers. this may be a night for chapultapec or house of pies afterward. cd list
  18. anyone going to see meat beat manifesto next weekend? i just might have to be there.
  19. i read that the plans for the park shops renovation included new window space opening up towards this lot.
