  1. it was truly surreal. it's hard to believe that it is real human flesh and organs. i left feeling heavy. a part of me was completely excited and fascinated. the other part (of me) was horrified and grossed out. i hope we get another show. my parents missed out last time around.
  2. Kent Rathbun, executive chef and owner of Jasper's in The Woodlands, has been chosen to compete in the Food Network's Iron Chef America culinary competition. He will participate in the show airing Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. link
  3. i remember when the worst police reports were underage drinking and traffic violations. lately, there seems to be more armed robbery, gunfire, doors kicked in...............
  4. unbelievable. is gentrification of the inner city pushing crime out to the suburbs? license to carry anyone? note to self: after an accident, do not roll down the window if in an isolated area until the situation has been deemed safe or the police have arrived. never assume that people are nice. truly freakin' sad.
  5. meltedplastic, have you considered starting a gallery using the gallery feature on haif?
  6. they want to get this one off the ground rapido! a race to see who can capture the most A grade office space leases. this could be fun.
  7. A big slice of the natural world soon will be available to residents as the George Mitchell Nature preserve hiking trail prepares to open to the public. A grand opening and ribbon cutting for the two mile trail located off Flintridge Drive is set for late February. The trail, designed for many outdoor pursuits including hiking, biking and birdwatching, is part of the 12,000-acre Spring Creek Greenway Project. It is a joint effort between The Woodlands Development Company, Montgomery County Precinct 3, The Woodlands Association and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Recreational Trails Grant Program. The partnership oversees the preservation of forest on both sides of the creek. "On the development side, construction of natural surface trails, bridges, drainage improvements, trailhead parking and signage were added to the preserve," said Bob Bruce, manager of recreation facilities development for The Woodlands Development Co. According to Robert W. Collins, special council to Precinct 3 Commissioner Ed Chance, the project took several years of planning. "There will be nature trails in the park," Collins said. "We are working on a trail that heads off of Flintridge Drive and goes to Bedias Lake." link

Market Street also has received the 2006 International Design and Development Award from the International Council of Shopping Centers. In 2005, the outlet was named a Houston Business Journal Landmark Award winner. link

  10. that's an impressive list of outlet stores. makes the conroe outlet look like a flea market, errrr more of a flea market than it already does. will definitely have to venture west to check this out when it opens.
  11. not for everyone. my gas company has been centerpoint for five years. guess it depends on your address.
  12. i was walking the dog this evening and went a different direction than usual. much to my surprise, one of the 30 year old 70's homes had been torn down and replaced with a two or three story, closer to the street, COOKIE CUTTER home! another home with a double lot down the street recently sold (quickly) and has been sitting empty for several weeks. yet a third home appears to have been purchased for top dollar (at least it was top dollar three years ago) and has received at least 30k in renovations. anyone know how the values are doing in this neighborhood? any realtors want to share recent sales prices? thanks in advance. edit: upon closer, daytime examination, the tear down is actually a complete renovation made to look like a cookie cutter home.
  13. the woodlands associations have all the information you need. community associations of the woodlands if you can't find what you need on the website, call the office. they keep everything handy. gas is centerpoint. i live in grogan's mill near town center; i'm mud #36. they are located off of grogan's mill near the waterway. welcome to the woods. btw, where are you moving from? are you with a company that is also moving to the woodlands?
  14. people don't realize, and i wonder if the media does, that a president's budget continues well in to the following president's term. also, the congress, as well as economic forces determine the condition of the economy. the president is one factor, and not a predominant one at that.
  15. hopefully, this will encourage the private sector. is it common for cities to get large hotels off the ground? at what point is it feasible for the private sector to build a 1,000 room hotel? is houston at or near that hypothetical point? historically, how have big convention hotels gotten off the ground in other convention cities? anyone?
  16. this thread is about modern townhomes in the tmc area. personal grief can be touted elsewhere (and preferably by non-duplicated profiles). back on track people.
  17. thank you god!!! it's finally over. hopefully, the new host will be a little less..........blonde.
  18. installation can be around $75. i've gotten to the point where i do it myself (with a helper). the first two were not the best installations though.
  19. my bad............"it's cesar pelli for god's sake..."
  20. something more subtle would suit me. i think it's cool when a developer simply uses the address. i realize that isn't marketable with the mentality of today's renter/buyer. ooooo, i bought a place at cosmopolitan, or i live at "the edge". guess people need that kind of recognition these days. no offense intended (you know who you are. ). ditto the sentiment on 1500 louisiana. i mean, it's pei for god's sake. instant classic and a welcome addition to our "esteemed" skyline.
  21. discussion on ron paul and economics moved to a new thread in "way off topic". linky btw, nice return to the discussion topic sidegate. thanks.
