  1. A "threatening note" was found in a bathroom of the Austin school, and an evacuation was ordered. I am sure this is a hoax - at least I am hoping so.
  2. Although it was a common term for freeway intersections, the interchange in the photo was Houston
  3. The bodies were still warm (literally) yesterday, and already the creeps from the Press and others were coming out from the woodwork questioning, suggesting and even accusing the police of negligence in yesterday
  4. Although there are many milestones that have marked Houston
  5. MrFootball, right on! I was just about to post the same article. Whitlock was on CNN this morning along with "Reverend" Al. Maybe it was my imagination, but I thought Soledad O'Brien did her best to almost discredit Whitlock while placating Sharpton. The interview was biased, for sure, even if mildly so.
  6. You know, the irony in all this is that, ever since
  7. That's a good one, DJV!Possible origin? Looking back on when I Was a little nappy headed boy Then my only worry Was for Christmas what would be my toy Even though we sometimes Would not get a thing We were happy with the Joy the day would bring From "I Wish", by Stevie Wonder
  8. Wow! I take that as a very high compliment, H-TM. Thank you, Sir.
  9. Interesting and insightful comments by Mr. Critico. I would like to respond: From: Frank Critico Re: A few things... --that people say "this is what Imus does" and think that excuses it, does not excuse it. Some of what he does is funny, some of what he does is offensive and funny and some of what he does is not funny, but offensive and hurtful. "Nappy headed ho's" falls into the latter category. This is also just a very small part of what he does. --that Rev. Al Sharpton has in the past been wrong and arguably has played the race card many times does not mean he is wrong this time or that he is playing the race card this time. And the Brawley case is irrelevant here. Two wrongs do not make a right. No, they don
  10. Lee Otis Johnson was purported to be behind the riots at TSU. However, he was conveniently absent when the rioting began. The cops claimed he was responsible, but had no concrete proof. For that incident, and for other illegal activities he was suspected of, Johnson became famous for the 30-year sentence he received for selling a single joint to an undercover cop.
  11. This story just oozes with hypocrisy. I was never an Imus fan before, but I am now.
  12. The way I see it, if I vote for one or the other, and that person got the most votes, then I would have contributed to having one or the other declared "the winner". I just can't handle that responsiblity. Say, how 'bout we keep the illegals and deport O'Reiley and Rivera?
  13. I see where the ever indignant, self-appointed agitator, Al Sharpton, is leading many of the protests against Imus
  14. You mean that the Bus Cops are actually gonna do something useful?
  15. I saw a new poster at a board I frequent who goes by the name TexasIslander. I asked if she was in Galveston, and, if so, was she a BOI
  16. PBS is Left, and is getting more and more Lefter.
  17. I remember the two on the way to Beaumont. And, although I don
  18. I was driving up 187 on the east side of Austin a few weeks ago, and I saw a sign for Bluebonnet Parkway, also know as Hwy290. When did that happen? Although 290 seems like a logical choice for using that name, my feeling is that 71 from Columbus to Austin deserved consideration, given the fact there are more bluebonnets along 71 that 290.
  19. My biggest fear is making a date with one of these women, and when I go to meet them, Chris Hanson answers the door.
  20. Uh, thanks, but no thanks. I don't drink anymore, and I don't go to bars to meet women. I am older, and much more conservative, now. I prefer meeting women in more traditional ways - I go to online chatrooms.
  21. That's the one, Subdude. As aggressive as some of the ladies were at the club, I often wondered if some of them didn't have a long-term rental on a room there.Vertigo, I lived and worked near Hobby Airport in the late 70s, and that's when I went to Yesterday. I think there were a number of "swingers" who hung out there, but I wasn't interested in that scene. And that was back in my drunking days, and my memories are a bit fuzzy on the details of the place.
  22. Reminds me of a bit of bathroom graffiti I once saw. "My mother made me a homosexual." Underneath, and in a different handwriting was, "If I sent her some material, could she make me one too?"
  23. There was a Minimax across the street from Reagan that was our
