  1. Those were deliberate mistakes, Regardless what others may think!
  2. Torchlight, I was wandering if someone was gonna catch that one.
  3. I'll see your par 3 11th and raise you one stroke. Here is my par 4 11th at Pine Forest in Bastrop. It's the signature hole. The fairway doglegs to the left at the top of the rise. The chasm in front of the tee box drops about 40-50 feet. The 12th hole is a par 3, and severely downhill just like the one in your photo.
  4. Actually, this must be a trick question, because the center of Houston is obviously "s"!
  5. Some use a frig to keep their meat cold.
  6. Mary, if I understand you, 1904 has been razed and now being rebuilt? How about the former 1905 lot? Last time I drove by there, there were stakes indicating 3 or 4 houses were being planned for on the original lot. Has any construction begun there? I knew quite a few families on your block, but never really knew the ones at the circle. The only name I recall was the Krugers. As to the 1900 block, I could tell you quite a few stories about the folks there. There was even a woman who, when her husband died, married a guy younger than her own kids. She and her new husband had a kid, and the three of them were
  7. As many here surely know, the EZTags also work on Dallas toll roads. I would assume they are going to work on the new Austin toll roads as well. Anyone know if that will be the case?
  8. If DeLay is going to be a lobbyist, then he should be in the black in a couple of weeks.
  9. Alpha, I am the exact same age as you. My parents had friends who lived in Bellaire (on Holly, as a matter of fact) who we would visit on occasion. We lived in the Heights, and we went down 18th to Hempstead to Post Oak to get there. The trek down Post Oak was a drive through the country back then. But that didn
  10. I have been calling them "welps" since I was a little kid. I see no reason to change now.
  11. I am very happy to see this post because I am happy to see that Hyden
  12. For anyone interested, here are the descriptions to each episode: Vol 1 Vol 2 Vol 3 Vol 4
  13. All rhetoric and diatribe aside, how is Lanier doing now? I haven
  14. This is purely conjecture on my part, but I would say that movie theaters were more of an evolution than a creation. Many early
  15. And Muslims hate the US. Go figure!I think maybe we should pull out of the Middle East. I think we need to leave, put up a rope all around the area, then let them fight it out, winner take all. Then the US can take on the winner!
  16. GF had the same dilemma recently. She bought a HUD house, and they had extensive testing done for LBP, which was found to be on nearly all of the original windows. The house was constructed at either Camp Mabry or Bergstrom in 1942. Since the paint on most of the windows was peeling, she decided to replace them all with Low-E windows. She got them at Window World, and for a pretty reasonable price. She wanted grids (internal, between the panes) because she thought they would look better with an older house. We didn
  17. You might want to check this out. I found the book on Ebay for $9 including shipping. Houston: The Unknown City
  18. I just got that today and I wanted to share it. Glad you gave me a good opening for doing so!
  19. This wouldn't be it, would it?
