I think that only works from your home wifi connection that is configured for it. Regardless, I converted my Sprint number to a Google Voice number. This means I can text message people from my regular number and check voicemails any time I have a wifi connection, even with no signal. Pretty handy.

The Heights Restaurant And Bar Scene - More Coming

McCain's was a terrible implementation of admittedly a similar concept. Revival Market is doing it right. -
Doesn't help much with phone calls, but several buildings provide wifi in the tunnels for internet. Can at least get some internet in many places.

Getting called less often for jury duty
kylejack replied to trymahjong's topic in General Houston Discussions
They supposedly pull from both driver's license list and registered voter list. But I can tell you that since I haven't had a driver's license the last 4 years, I've never been called. -
Sprint. Good service on 19, little service in the tunnels.

Hm, not sure what you mean. The owner and manager were charged with arson.

COH Bike sharing program expanding

I found it really odd that they thought it made sense to put 16 of the 21 stations downtown. That's a really foolish allocation, I'd say. Still, glad it's expanding. -
Yeah, they've had the permits up for like six months, but work seemed to stall after it was mostly gutted a few months ago.

What does D&T stand for? -
It's 95% big restaurant chains, and they shuffle locations all the time. Ninfa's, Alonti, Whataburger, etc.

Distillery 2520 had awful drinks and bartenders. Lucky's-caliber beer selection would be a big step up. -
Happy hour 3-6:30 every day, $3 Wells, $3 beer, $5 Wine.

Yes, Hearsay finally got some good cocktails and seem to stay pretty busy now. Food menu hasn't changed much, but the quality seems more consistent now.

They opened last night. No food til Wednesday. -
That Schaub open-field fumble came as a result of him realizing the best play would be for him to run it himself. Does not compute, Schaub doesn't run it, brain shutting down.

Yeah, OKRA is great. Reminds me of my high school days going to shows at Red Cat.

Definitely the Texans winning the Superbowl. Building construction should follow current occupancy and demand.

What's the last movie that was set in Houston?
kylejack replied to samagon's topic in General Houston Discussions
Don't trust IMDB to be authoritative. Crazy Heart most definitely filmed some scenes in Houston. You can see Jones Plaza and various other places. The supposed mall in Houston wasn't filmed in Houston, though, that's true. Yeah, I would say Puncture. Playing House filmed in Houston, and I don't think they ever specified for or against it being in Houston. -
They're condos with some owners who rent their units. Has a building manager and etc. There's a few listings right now on HAR. Lots of cool stuff happening in Downtown right now. OKRA Charity Saloon is now open, The Modular and Batanga restaurants opening soon. I hear a couple other bars are coming in that area as well.

They've had a steady waitlist for a couple years now. I was on it for a while, but found something else. St. Germain and Capitol Lofts both have leases available, or there's one in 1011 Wood St. Club Quarters also actually just got some reasonable priced lease units. Might try CityView also.
