First, demonstrate that a significant percentage of people were fooled by the wording. I found it perfectly straightforward. We lost. Houstonians want transit dollars diverted to roads.

The For vote is for what's described in the referendum. I did not find the language confusing.

Yep, there was a guy downtown handing out flyers. 3 story driving range and "the largest sports bar in Houston." -

So we're over a year in now and the hostel is getting pretty good reviews. http://www.yelp.com/biz/hi-houston-the-morty-rich-hostel-houston-2?sort_by=date_desc I checked the rates and it goes for $22 or $23 for a dorm with a shower and breakfast. Not bad!

The Burger Guys have been operating way out on Westheimer for a while. They just opened their Downtown location on Wednesday in the former Korma Sutra place, across from Flying Saucer. http://blogs.houstonpress.com/eating/2012/11/first_look_at_the_burger_guys.php I think their burgers are totally worth the $10 price tag. I'm glad they're finally inside the Loop, because I never got to make it out to the other location.

That's surprising, considering they're already tearing up the median to build the station.

Seoul removes urban highway, life goes on

Major freeways are used to carry traffic cross-country, or long distances. I could see the logic in having the major freeways miss major cities by a bit, and use smaller freeways for getting around the city. -

Why not? Seems like there was plenty of gas in PA. Their supply tightened, but they had gas available. The rail lines to Queens were back up a few days ago, btw. And higher density means more area grocery stores, too.

The software is proprietary and closed source. We can't look inside of it. The Ohio Sec State just applied unapproved patches to the software: http://www.salon.com...oting_machines/ -
GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
kylejack replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
Well clearly they failed since Pavilions went into receivership, but new hope for downtown can still spring from it. Even the restaurants on the interior streets seem to do alright...the decent ones, anyway (iii Forks, Guadalajara del Centro). -
Okay, I asked DMD and it's a "transparent covering that will go over the dining trellis structure at the park."

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.

I went to Pete's Dueling Piano on Saturday, and it was packed. They don't have food, so I brought up some carryout from Mia Bella, and both Mia Bella and Andalucia had every table occupied. At least on the weekends, business seems to be good for the restaurants. I think the failure of Yao's says more about Yao's than Pavilions. -
Hm, maybe the zone includes properties that face Fannin from the other side of the street?

Coming from downtown I go Washington > Houston > Center > Oliver > Summer. Edit: Oh I guess you're talking about going through David Addickes' back lot with the President heads. That gate might not always be open, but I did see it open the other day.

Are we really going with Party Kroger, I think it needs a better name, but anyway, it does have a bike rack. A lame bike rack in an out of the way place, but a bike rack nonetheless. No such luck at the Walmart.

I don't know about architecture, but I definitely like the measures Montrose HEB took to integrate with the neighborhood. The landscaping is a nice touch, and I love the awesome bike rack.
