Maybe we should do some polling to find out what percentage of various areas make regular use of public transit. Maybe probable ridership is more important than density.

The city can be viciously slow about issuing permits, especially for a type of building they are unfamiliar with. I wouldn't blame MTI.

I would say that Double Trouble has the best coffee in Midtown.

I reiterate that the gas station is just a symptom of the area. I haven't seen any accusations that the station owner is involved in any illegal dealings. It seems like the city expects some gas station owner to hire an entire security team to make sure nothing shady is going on in their parking lot. This is a completely unreasonable expectation that no other gas station has to suffer. If HPD says there are too many fights or drug deals going down in the area, they should increase patrols or set up some undercover buy busts. It's not reasonable to expect a business owner to have to go out and stand toe to toe with every brawler, junkie, or dealer. That's what police are for.

Hm, a pretty optimistic outlook from Metro. When I lived in Spring I couldn't have reasonably got to Metro without a car. These days it would be a little easier with my bicycle, but they didn't offer bike racks at the time.
