  1. *TCR. I think I got my acronyms mixed up from some old SimCity 4 mod...
  2. Well, I still remember was that one of the big positives that you guys were praising it for is not using any new ROW that wasn't power line or railroad ROW and were using that "fact" to shut down opposition when it cropped it up on the thread. Now, there's some politician that wants to prevent use of eminent domain unless counties approve it, and you've got feathers ruffled up. This leaves two possibilities: 1. TSR will not use eminent domain, and therefore the house bill is completely useless and there's nothing worry about. 2. TSR would use eminent domain, and you've been lying/lied to about it not using eminent domain.
  3. I thought that it wouldn't need eminent domain? Wasn't that one of the big advantages?
  4. Richmond outside the loop (no, this isn't proposed for light rail) is a disaster. Probably more strip clubs/bars than restaurants, road is in bad shape, the works. I can't see a redevelopment without some other "teeth".
  5. I don't know. The Speedy Stop at 6 and 290 may be remaining a SS since 7 Eleven didn't buy everything. The TETCO stores in BCS do have Slurpee machines though
  6. I am well aware of Love Street Light Circus Feel Good Machine, but what is this Rio Posada restaurant also at the site?
  7. I can't believe they didn't mention 9/11, which I think is the singularly biggest reason why supertalls have tended to fall out of favor.
  8. I've never heard of either of them.
  9. Thanks for cleaning up the thread, it even still flows correctly.
  10. You know, if they hadn't built up Sawyer Heights and the Heights Bike Trail so much, I think that the MKT line could've been an option. Maybe.
  11. Even more surprising is the dumpy, small stores they operate under the same name...
  12. A 5 minute walk?? Even when I lived in one the most "urban" parts of College Station (yeah, it was still CS, but still) it was still like at least 3-4 blocks to a crappy convenience store where me and my housemates would buy beer sometimes. Even in a far more dense area like Houston, a 5 minute walk would mean you have a supermarket within a 2 block radius, and that's still very rare.
  13. I'm pretty sure Chris does have an old HAIF handle.
  14. Maybe. I can't see that Sears would actually want to stick around enough to temporarily move out and move back in, unfortunately
  15. Over trenched 10 might be nice, but what about the existing bridges?
  16. That was the first full line HEB, Pantry stores opened in 1992.
  17. Wasn't part of the idea that they WOULDN'T take lots of ROW, and that was one of the pro-HSR arguments?
  18. 345 trenched with attractive bridges wouldn't be all that bad in terms of traffic feasibility and aesthetics, plus no flooding problems like in Houston.
  19. What money would it bring anyway? There would be no station there probably for years, and it won't produce dollar bills as it whizzes by.
  20. I see that part of the plan as they see it includes adding a highway to the southeast.
  21. I can't believe that the brick and walls would be removed but the floor was not. It's what, 100 years old? Must have been built awfully sturdily...concrete floors of that age tend to be compromised more easily, especially to renovations and heavy equipment.
  22. For an example, check this out: Scroll up to the last picture in the "modern pictures" post. It's clearly the same angle, but count the differences.
