  1. You are insane! it was so humid and muggy today it was gross. The ground was sweating.
  2. Everyone gets angry and bitter. Difference is Republicans very often sit back and smile and gloat at all they have or have accomplished (earn, steal, hoard, whatever), while Democrats after any success just move on to the next thing to whine and crusade about.
  3. I thought it was only the Eastex when it's north of I-10.
  4. We bought ours from the place next to Bike Barn on Kirby. We got a demo one for half the full price. It was not dirty, but we cleaned the dickens out of it. They said they wanted to get it off the floor after only a couple weeks because they wanted to put a king on display instead of the queen. Maybe, maybe not, but no smells, no stains, disinfected, it's been great. I used to make fun of sissies that said they need new mattresses. I can sleep anywhere!! Haha. After we got this one, I am a sissy. I love my mattress and whine when I have to stay on other sub-awesome beds.
  5. I like dogs/animals. Just not pets, because that implies taking care of some animal's stinkiness and poo and hair. Not fun, in my opinion. edit: grammar
  6. Yeah it's glorious. I don't have to truck my drinkin arse down to midtown any more. They greet you outside and ask you what you plan to buy so they can direct you which one to go in. They asked if I wanted wine/beer or liquor, of course my answer was "yes". The liquor one has some wine too so I won. And no cheap $6 Yellow Tail for me...I am a wine snob and only drink $9 wine that has a label I find interesting. As for the Kroger, I have seen that guy asking for gas too. And he was DRIVING around in his car saying he was short on gas. Even funnier, I was approached the exact same way 7 years ago in a Randall's parking lot when I first moved here. It may have been the same guy, but I can't claim to have that good a memory of what he looked like. The one thing I hate about the Kroger on 11th is the freaking pet food aisle. I never shop on this aisle, but I have been down it in other others and it doesn't make me want to vomit. But even being a row over from it at this Kroger (baby food aisle of course) and I start to gag. Dry pet food doesn't stink, so either they're watering it like the produce or someone is opening cans of dog ass wet food and leaving them there. Disgusting. I hate pets.
  7. I don't think 288 has the volume to reasonably support commuter rail. It's suburbia, not urban center to urban center. I highly doubt all those people driving up 288 in the morning are going to ditch their cars for waiting for a train and then transferring onto buses when they get there. Most of them spend 10-15 minutes just to get to 288 because the freakin idiotic suburban traffic light system and roads are designed and run by morons.
  8. I guess. It was just one wall though. No roof issues that I saw. And I didn't see much of any other damage around there. Like I said, typical crappy suburban strip mall construction.
  9. One of those strip centers, on the south side of 2234, the one with Lenny's in it - I noticed that the entire back wall (facing east) was torn down. Or it looked to be. What the heck is going on with that? Typical crappy suburban construction?
  10. I think rail to Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin would get 100 times the traffic as to N.O (<sarcasm>oooh, take us from there to Meridian or Birmingham!!!</sarcasm>). I can't believe someone would let this get too far without figuring that out. I would go to Austin and SA easily 5 times as much if there was a fun high speed train involved. note: I have been to SA once in 30 years, Austin 3 times. Which is dumb because I've been to Gillette Wyoming 5 times.
  11. I'm fine with that. Keep it in the 70s over the summer. Ok now that we agree, we should make it happen. Where do I sign? I do love a very cold night. Perfect for camping, cooking outside, anything really. I don't like the wetness though. Clear skies on a winter night are the best. With fire.
  12. I love it. Colder please! Sweat is for playing and working out, not just walking to the damn car.
  13. Is there a Dell store at the mall? The internet says yes, but when I call it's not a good number any more. I need a laptop part and can't stand talking to the Dell people on the phone. Everyone hates them.
  14. Sounds to me like the elitists are in Eastwood, not the Heights after all! You gotta hold on loosely!
  15. Also just got back. Not as crowded as last year, but I think we went later. Also, lights were not near as impressive. But I don't want to put it down at all, we still had a damn great time strolling around with our sleeping babies. I heard, in the same block, bands playing .38 Special and America. Very weird, but very cool.
  16. Went to Terry Hershey for the first time today, had the little one in tow in the bike trailer. Very nice park, we will definitely be back.
  17. Is there ever a stink about open containers while walking the street? I've never had a problem before but it would suck to get a ticket.
  18. Yeah, I think we'll bring the big stroller, the one with storage beneath and cup holders. You know, for the baby's comfort. Flask is also the best idea ever. I happen to have most of a bottle of Maker's with which to fill it.
  19. Did you make the beer? The only home brew I have left is an oatmeal stout, and it's finally cold enough to bust that stuff out. Just checked the weather, high of 71, low 56 Saturday. I guess it'll be shorts, but hopefully not the sweating.
  20. I agree that tolerance is pretty lame, but since I don't actually have to speak to the bridge (unless you have to answer it 3 questions to pass?) I will never really use its name. It is the pedestrian bridge over the bayou.
  21. Bah, everyone knows us western-Heighters are far more low class. We'll be out and about that night, look for the small redhead baby girl. Probably won't be rummin' (or preferably scotchin') it up since my parents and of course the baby will be with us, but good times nonetheless. I just hope I'm not sweating my ass off by the end of the night like last year. Please at least be in the 50s by the start of the night.
  22. Holy crap I hope Lee doesn't play. That guy just doesn't know what to do lots of the time. So many pick-6's it is ridiculous, it's clear that Jefferson is already a better football player and leader than he is. Jefferson will start, but I bet you see Hatch get back in there at random times. I like the Alabama-Texas sugar bowl idea, we should start a petition and make it happen.
  23. Hey we only have the one! Oh, and the KKK nazi guy. Never mind, I'm with you.
  24. I don't think I've ever seen one in person, only pictures. So to me they are but a mythical, evil omen.
  25. Tech will not roll over Ole Miss. I know you big 12-ers have a hard time believing it, but all those big 12 teams looked so offensively awesome this year because there is absolutely NO defense in the entire conference. Ole Miss will play a close game, and either team could win. Speaking of no defense, the Oregon vs Oklahoma St game might see an over/under in triple digits. I look forward to that one. I think Texas-Ohio State is a good matchup, but I was really hoping Ohio St would get bama in the Sugar bowl so they could get rolled 3 years in a row by an SEC team. Rolled by Texas is good enough I guess. And who said LSU in the Cotton? Um, no. We don't deserve that bid, we barely deserve any bowl game. We accept our prize of probably losing to GT and look forward to next year.
