  1. On HAIF, I have heard talk about the old motor near Highway 59 and Beechnut. Today I was lucky enough to find an postcard! Looking on Google Maps, it appears a Shell gas station was built over the old motel? You don't see an English style development very often. Very cool! Texas Hospitality In An "Old English" Setting Manor House Inn and Restaurant 8115 Southwest Freeway (at Beechnut) Houston, Texas 77036 / Phone A/C-PR 1-0671
  2. I found a postcard for the Allen Park Inn motel located at 2121 Allen Parkway. I believe it flooded during Hurricane Allison and was unable to recover. The AMLI 2121 Apartments replaced the old motel inn. Anyone have any memories here?
  3. Does anyone know when the Albert Pick Motor Inn located at 3301 Southwest Freeway was active? I'm assuming the motel was in operational in the 1970s? What replaced the demolished motel? Looking on Google Maps, it brings me to the intersection of 59 South at Buffalo Speedway. I see the famous Phoenix Tower located right there. Phoenix Tower has an address of 3200 Southwest Freeway. I found company stationary on Ebay. Looking for info!
  4. wow!! I see grass and more and more trees!! One Discovery Way: Unknown Path: Two Discovery Way: Helix Park, section 1. Grass!! The first in TMC Helix Park. Looks so good!! Helix Park, section 2: Helix Park, section 3: Helix Park, section 4: Mixed-Use Garage:
  5. Thought I would add this to the thread. There was a recent job posting from the TMC. Within the job posting they mentioned TMC BioPort. The job posting was from the real estate department. This gives me hope they know the development (will be) secured. Transaction Coordinator, TMC Real Estate Leasing TMC is the world’s largest life science ecosystem, spanning three distinct campuses in the heart of Houston. Across the world-class complex, TMC is harnessing the collective expertise of members and partners to drive advancements in research, development, production, commercialization, and patient care. TMC Real Estate Leasing seeks to improve patient care through entrepreneurship and innovation tenant leasing. Facilities include TMC Innovation Factory, TMC Medical Campus, TMC Helix Park, and TMC BioPort. Tenants include Healthcare Start-ups, R&D Life Science Companies, Hospitals and Institutions, Hospitality and Retail, and related industries.
  6. I really do like Building 1. Looks very nice!! I must admit the fresh green screen across the property looks good. I'm glad they removed the old fence and replaced with fresh material. The site looks a lot better!
  7. One last look at the only tower crane remaining. I talked with a Harvey employee today who let me know the tower crane will be dismantled in a few weeks. Tricky, because I also saw a new retaining wall going up! I thought this was back on. The employee told me they are finishing the garage and will stop there. I wonder if there will even be a public plaza with retail and a park? In the renderings there was a little park space plaza. I guess that is also on hold. What happened to Houston's life science sector? All of the projects in development have stalled. Today I noticed the heavy equipment has been removed at the BCM Health Sciences Park site. On their website, they have a donation button to be apart of the funding for the new tower. TMC Helix Park, Levit Green, TMC BioPort, Texas A&M Innovation Plaza, and possibly the new BCM Health Sciences Park have all suffered financially. Onto the pictures!!
  8. Does Lovett Commercial still own this land? I can see a light-industrial development here. A distribution center/warehouse park. They are popping up everywhere along Highway 288. I don't see this being hospital/medical office building related. Too much land, too far down Fannin Street. The area once known as Pierce Junction has (largely) been developed with industrial developments. This is also located across from Levett's Fannin Station town home/residential development. The property address for this vacant land is probably 0 Fannin Street, but the nearby address of Fannin Station is 9423 Fannin Street.
  9. I drove by today to see the new blue screen. Exciting news!! According to the TDLR filing, they are planned to start in November 2023. I wonder if they are about to do site work? Or maybe just a general barrier to the property? What was the situation with the 18-wheeler parking lot? For several years, the curb space for along Buffalo Speedway was used as an 18-wheeler parking area. I always thought it was illegal parking. They placed yellow parking blocks at the site!! This is amazing!! No more 18-wheelers illegally parking.
  10. The Beverly Residences at Tanglewood from Rama Companies with G.T. Leach. Did this switch locations? Is this a bandit sign for marketing? I noticed there is a new plat proposed for this site. There is also a Notice of Variance Request sign posted in front of the property.
  11. Two updates. A new Loopnet listing has been created. Looks like now hey are marketing this as industrial space for lease. I'm sure if there was an offer to buy the land, they would accept as well. Both for sale and lease? https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1615-South-Loop-W-Houston-TX/21526507/ Also, the in-vehicle security detail has been removed. There has been someone in a vehicle guarding the property for the past 2 years. Not anymore! Budget cuts I'd imagine?
  12. Here's apart of the Alkek Fountain in front of Baylor College of Medicine's Roy and Lillie Cullen Building located at 99 John Freeman Blvd.
  13. What's going on with this property!? Such a massive parcel in such a prime location.
  14. Is this on Loopnet? I've never seen it advertised. I wonder if someone purchased the land but the signs haven't been removed? Such an incredible parcel for sale! TOD!! Transit Oriented Development. Directly across the street from METRO's Fannin South Transit Center and their METROrail Red Line. The Light Rail servicing department is also across the street. This is where they mechanically work on the trains. I don't think this would be medical. I would go life science/bio tech before a hospital/medical office building. My money is on a massive multifamily complex. 4 to 6 story wrap. This is in one of the "pierce junction parcels" that is on my list. This area is prime for development!! South of NRG.
  15. Forgot where I found this picture. This was supposed to be the Windy Jurgens Trampoline Center in Westbury on Moonlight Drive? Could this have been the Meyerpland Plaza location? Looks like Beechnut to me? There was golf and a golf range attached? Can anyone identify this location?
  16. Hunting a particular Speedway/Raceway/Race Track in Houston and came across this during my scope. Is this it? The time frame in the original posting is the same as the business incorporation date. HAIF we did it!! West Loop Raceway, Inc. Incorporation Date: February 6, 1967 Dissolution Date: January 20, 1972 Inactive Directors/Office: Ralph P Reynolds
  17. I'm not sure if HAIF has any threads that discuss Radio Controlled race cars. Is this anyone's hobby? Back in the 1990s there was, apparently, an R/C speedway located in Friendswood. With an address of 4409 FM 2351. T.M.T. R/C Speedway, Inc. Incorporation Date: May 17, 1989 Dissolution Date: September 30, 1991 Inactive Directors/Officers: Joseph S Vitable Registered Address: 4409 FM 2351 Friendswood, TX 77546 United States Google Earth image from 1995: HS aerial from 1995 as well: By 2002 the R/C race track was paved over with concrete:
  18. Interesting! I just looked on Google Earth to try to find the old Go-Kart Race Track/Speedway and it's still there! Looks to be out of commission. In 10 years these tracks will either be buried under plant life or developed and built over with concrete. G&M Motors looks to be the current owner. It's an automotive company so I wonder if they actually use the track? I see trucks on the speedway.
  19. Splitting this into a new thread. Sure! I can help you-- Pasadena Fun Factory was located at 3802 Allen Genoa Road. The corporate business name, apparently, was Super Go Kart & Video Arcade, Inc. Here's an advertisement from the newspaper South Belt Leader dated October 28, 1982. 20. Does anyone have experience with the senior living memory care facility? I believe this was once called Autumn Leaves but since changed hands? This memory care residential living could come in handly for me in the next 10 to 20 years. I wonder how this stacks up against other memory care, assisted living, and senior living options around town. Although, with the way things are going, I'm sure most children have their ederly parents live with them to save money. I believe senior care is expensive! Although, professionals might do a better job than the kids playing nursing. Thanks Website: https://www.theheritagetexas.com/senior-living/tx/houston/w-bellfort-ave/
