  1. ExxonMobil Pipeline was out this past week. They put out several stake flags, a sign, and marked the concrete with paint. "Must be present before any excavation or construction activities" Looking promising!!
  2. Levit Green wow!! The outdoor amenities are amazing! All of the chairs and tables are colorful. A thin bar countertop with bar stools over looking the lake! This would be a great place to throw a house party. I believe Hines was focusing on employee collaboration and socializing. This would be my favorite seat: Just add a beer and you're good to go!
  3. August 3, 1977. Bonanza Sirloin Pit - 10534 South Post Oak.
  4. The escalator going up to the skybridge has been sealed up with drywall. Anyone know why? Is this in anticipation of MD Andersonโ€™s new South of Holcombe campus? I believe the escalators have been out of service for a year. Maybe instead of fixing them, or having the public question, they just sealed them off?
  5. Did the owner die during the pandemic? The family should sell it if the owner passed away.
  6. EYP: A Page Company https://www.eypae.com/ Really cool firm. EYP, and the past leadership, has worked on tons of TMC projects.

NRG Park Mixed-Use: 350-acres. TMC BioPort: 500-acres. There are also several 20 to 50 acre parcels for sale in the TMC area as well.

  9. Anyone have the scoop? Edit: Prime real estate!! This is one to watch.
  10. I was browsing the newspaper Jewish Herald-Voice dated September 8, 1977 and came across a full-page business advertisement for Al Kaplan's Carpet City located at 10421 South Post Oak Road. Does anyone recall this place? Didn't a Mexican restaurant used to be housed in the same lease space of the strip center? Was it Los Tios before they moved to Meyerland on Beechnut? 1977 wasn't too long ago, did anyone personally know Allan Kaplan and family? 15. Bumped to Going Up! I wonder if this can start before the HLSR lease ends? I believe the whole campus is 350-acres. They can build something without disturbing the Rodeo Grounds. Has a master plan even been created yet? Just how early in the project are we?
  16. Great topic. So, in 2023 will TMC contain the tallest (hospital) in the world? Houston Methodist's Centennial Tower is pretty tall. Supposed to be 500 feet+
  17. First President in U.S. history to be indicted. Regardless of your political affiliation, this is historic. I believe Trump was also the first U.S. President to be impeached twice.
  18. Grand jury indicts former U.S. President Donald Trump.
  19. Anyone familiar with the apartment complex called Weston Medical Center located at 7510 Brompton Road? I wonder who was the developer of the complex? Does anyone know the architect? Weston Medical Center should be cheaper housing considering it's garden-style apartments. Renters probably get a good deal since it's not 5 stories and flooded with amenities. 20. Can anyone recommend me a dentist that has their office in the TMC vicinity? I'd like to go somewhere near Fannin, Holcombe, Old Spanish Trail, South Main, or Almeda. Thanks for any recommendations.
  21. I was wondering if anyone knew the architect for the campus of the Corpus Christi Catholic School & Church. The church has an address of 9900 Stella Link Road. The school has an address of 4005 Cheena Drive. I often see this listed as "Corpus Christi School" on old 1950s/1960s maps. The buildings have been around for a while. As with movie theaters and other public spaces, the COVID-19 pandemic hit churches hard. I know of a few churches that have recently been sold. The Corpus Christi Catholic School & Church has a huge campus in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I wonder if they would ever sell their property? I could see a massive garden-style apartment complex on this site. Or maybe a mixture of multifamily, retail, and a park. Not expecting anything luxury. I don't foresee your typical 4 to 6 story multifamily wrap here. If they did sell some of their property I'd imagine they would get rid of the soccer field first. There is literally 4 soccer fields directly across the street. They could just lease, or have permission to use, one of the soccer fields at the South Campus Sports Association Field At 10001 Stella Link Rd. Campus overview:
  22. Came across this rare Kenneth Franzheim proposal for the Houston Independent School District Administration/Board of Education building. I wonder where this was supposed to go? This was in the 1950s, or maybe even in the 1960s. Love the drawing of the car!! Reminds me of an animated movie.
