Memorial Park At 6501 Memorial Dr.
Highrise Tower replied to themidtownguy's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
Robert Clay β who leads Houston-based Clay Development & Construction Inc. β and his wife, Emily Clay, have committed $10 million to the Memorial Park Conservancy. The gift will go toward the transformation of Memorial Park, which is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars and take more than a decade to complete. The Clays pledged the gift on May 30, less than a month after the Houston City Council approved a new public-private funding model for the park's master plan project. https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/shows/uh-moment/2018/03/28/275841/uh-moment-uh-sugar-land-breaks-ground-on-new-building/ The University of Houston at Sugar Land is breaking ground on a new three-story, 100-thousand square foot building to house the College of Technology. Associate Vice President Jay Neal says he expects enrollment at UH Sugar Land to double, adding over 2,500 students, when the building opens. βThe long-term goal is to get to about 10-thousand students out here, and this is a key step in that process,β Neal said. Construction of the UH College of Technology building will start in April, and the building is expected to open its doors for the fall 2019 semester.

Stairs
Highrise Tower replied to Highrise Tower's topic in Architects, Developers, Builders, and Designs
Joked to my friend about driving around Meyerland to take photos of all the different stair designs. Whole neighborhoods had to elevate with stairs. One staircase actually caught my eye. Did not take a photo at that time. Maybe tomorrow I'll drive by -
I searched and HAIF does not have a dedicated thread for random stair photos. I've cross-posted this twice now but here's a quick photo to start off the thread. BHP Billiton's stairs

Favorite Coffee Houses
Highrise Tower replied to august948's topic in Houston Area Dining, Shopping and Entertainment
I'm enjoying Cavo Coffee. They present themselves as a luxury coffee house. https://www.cavocoffee.com/ Their main business is in the Regions Financial Bank building in GWP. They had a pop-up location at ROD but since changed to a more permanent location in West U on Bissonnet. Friendly staff, high end equipment, great coffee.. and surroundings.. If I had Cavo Coffee in the lobby of the building I work at..
