  1. Uptown is lit up with holiday lights! It's so beautiful! Stretches so far too. The Mercer on Richmond to Greenway Plaza (approx). Don't know where to post this. Might be the wrong area
  2. Cranes everywhere! It's a smaller city, so maybe I observed more cranes and development. Those new condos/apartments all have their own unique, and bright style. There's so many luxury apartments! Russell Investments Center is so nice! The tower caught my eye while I was riding on the freeway. Google has a project in the CBD? I passed by the site and there was two or three cranes. . Edit: Off topic wise, I do like the peacefulness compared to Texas. The PNW is awesome!
  3. Traveling down 610 on the way to the airport for my Thanksgiving vacation in Seattle.
  4. http://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/2017/11/20/251866/houston-to-redesign-congested-interchange/ Construction will begin in February on a $259 million project to redesign the congested interchange where I-69/US 59 meets the 610 West Loop. Texas Department of Transportation currently ranks it as one of the state’s biggest traffic choke points. Dignitaries were on hand Monday for a groundbreaking ceremony on the Southwest Freeway HOV lane. Mayor Sylvester Turner was there along with Congressman John Culberson and members of the Texas Transportation Commission. As for what the project entails, one-lane connector ramps will be upgraded to two lanes. TxDOT District Engineer Quincy Allen said the big thing they hope to eliminate is sudden lane changes. “Somebody has to stop and weave, or needs to weave, usually their first reaction is to take their foot off the accelerator and slow down,” said Allen. “When we rebuild these ramps we’re going to improve the operational efficiency of them. How much time you have to make a decision when you change lanes.” Other improvements include shoulders for the 610 West Loop bridge. Also detention ponds will be added to help keep water off the mainlanes. TxDOT said vertical clearances will also be increased. The work is scheduled to take between five and six years but TxDOT hopes to finish sooner. Allen said lanes of traffic will be kept open through the construction zone while that work is underway. He added crews will work on a seven-day-a-week schedule, and if they have to close the mainlanes at any point they’ll do it at night or during the weekend. https://twitter.com/Gail_HPM
  5. Friends and I were out in Memorial City last night. Holiday lighting has hit Memorial City!
  6. Had a great experience with a principal of Stantec. The principal gave me a tour of the floor and let me feel at home. Impressive layout! Thank you. http://www.stantec.com/about-us/office-locations/united-states-locations/texas-offices/houston-greenway-plaza-texas-office.html
  7. Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center's Merfish Teen Center located at 9000 South Rice Ave, Houston, TX 77096. The ERJCC satellite campus contains sports, ballrooms, and meeting spaces. Sports include tennis, swimming pool, and a basketball court. Lots of room for a campus expansion! To the left of the basketball court, a long North Braeswood Blvd, is a lot of empty land sitting (now) as green grass.
  8. Retail Wrap: Meyerland Plaza gets $93 million loan for refinancing http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Meyerland-Plaza-gets-93M-loan-for-refinancing-12293372.php A joint venture of Fidelis Realty Partners has obtained a $93 million loan to refinance Meyerland Plaza, an 860,308-square-foot retail center at the southwest corner of the West Loop South and Beechnut. JLL Capital Markets, led by Tom Fish, Jimmy Board and Molly Leinsdorf, secured the loan through John Hancock. Tenants include a J.C. Penney store, Palais Royal, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Ross Dress for Less, Marshall's, Best Buy, Chick-fil-A, Saltgrass Steakhouse and Beck's Prime. Fidelis, in partnership with BlackRock, acquired the property from Ronus Properties in 2013. The 1957 center was redeveloped by Ed Wulfe in the mid-1990s.
  9. Thought this site was recently remolded? 3- ish years ago. Unless it was the transformation from food service to title loans. Now they're switching it up again?!
  10. Drove by this two weeks ago. Was wondering where the thread was. I'll take some photos next time!
