  1. Sneak peak update on their new in-house chocolate factory. Copper line. Sushi department? Other side of the copper line.. temperature controlled shelving. Might be the same design as the others in the "prepared foods" area? 2nd floor by the kitchen school had this blue tarp last month. That area is now filled with seating! They expanded the upstairs "cafe seating". Such a massive place.
  2. New, massive cooler. Floral department's? New format of spice bins. A refreshed look. New deep tubs of in-store peanut butter. New, low profile wine shelves.
  3. It's Super Bowl week! A few construction photos.
  4. That's it, I'm done. Central Market is amazing!! wow Sorry, no photos. Well, I have about 50 photos from the past few months but don't want to take the time to post them. Bathrooms are starting to be remodeled, or are they just that gross? Hoping the bathrooms get touched up. I'm a honey and maple syrup collector.. CM just started a Greek section. They have like 9 times of Greek honey! I don't see how a single store can have like 30 types of honey. Their chip isle(s)! They have a tortilla chip isle, and then a "flavored" chip isle. Probably a selection of 75 different types of chips? It's just amazing.. the selection you have. That's how you spend money! Gotta have control..
  5. Sexy (behind the scenes) What is that used for!?! Home made chocolate? CM did not spend money on bathroom remodels. I even heard a angry customer saying there wasn't a "baby changing" area. Edit: I have not seen the drawings. I could be wrong..
  6. Sorry guys. I've stopped updating this thread because I feel guilty after drinking a few beers then posting. Feel like I'm PWD (Posting While Drunk) CM made a major milestone in construction this week. OMG I can't handle it. I have like 20 photos to share but don't want to post them all.. I have accumulated construction photos over the past month. Here are some from this weekends! Old Central Market logo was removed. Temp banner as replacement What's in the boxes!?! (Register parts?) New red brick and new register systems New register system "Sky high" ceiling as they were advertising Prairie Pirate Paradise was on tap. Ranks a 95 on BA, which is World Class status. Drank three glasses and decided to leave. Can't flurf where I eat. Update: The next day it was sold out! I only got to have three pours :/ Good stuff for sure. Drinking in the trendy part of town
  7. Photos taken Saturday, October 01, 2016 Friday, October 07, 2016. Concrete!
  8. The entrance is massive! Maybe the structure has risen? It's so high up, and has some type of corrugated steel roof panel. Parking? Did H-E-B buy additional land to expand parking? With a bigger store, comes bigger crowds. There was (forum) talks about H-E-B buying the apartment complex to the left. Well, at least their parking garage. Thought about H-E-B stock. They're the biggest grocer in Texas?
  9. Not that I'm aware of. Both are populated with office/warehouse space. Chick-Fil-A gets so busy during lunch that I bet they will both remain open. Raising Cane's signage is up. What a hot development area! Bellaire High School going in down the street at Fournace & S. Rice? On the Chevron campus. No way.. Bellaire/HISD has "funds" so anything could happen. That intersection would be overly dense for all three schools. Flooding is also a concern in that area. Somebody had mentioned that the entire Chevron campus is too big for the Bellaire High School building. HISD and a developer would split the land. I knew something was going to happen, fast! I posted about it a few months ago, on another forum, skyscraperpag, Hot land.. Right off the W. Loop, on Chevron property, across the freeway from the upcoming Houston Methodist Hospital development.
  10. Photos taken Sunday, September 25, 2016 High structure! Wondering how the atrium is going to pan out. It would be nice to own land on San Felipe..
  11. Photos taken Sunday, September 18, 2016 The kitchen utensil area is now illuminated! Looks 1,000 times better! Resembles a mall shelf or something.
  12. http://www.newquest.com/pdfs/South_Cross_Center.pdf Anybody know whose doing the CDs for this NQ project?
  13. I am not. I collect Riedel crystal. The CM Riedel glasses are always limited edition (one time pressing) so they're always a bit special. If I break a glass, I cannot re buy it Crystal is top shelf, the bottom is beer glasses, etc. Really, the Riedel crystal is so thin it's scary to drink out of. Mainly used for display.
  14. I drive by this weekly. I think about HAIF every time so I really need to stop and take photos. Tons of land, but I'm not sure if I like the bldg designs. Coming a long fast! Several structures have been built in the back-end of the land
  15. Chick-fil-A going in at Shoppes at Uptown Crossing! http://capitalretailproperties.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Uptown-Crossing-Flier-EMAIL.pdf Three chicken places. Raising Cane's (across the street), El Pollo Loco, and Chick-fil-A. Going to get busy around lunch time. The Walmart store has plenty of parking though. Place has really developed!
  16. I read a posting on HAIF that mentioned full article copy/pastes are not allowed here. If I broke the rule by posting the HBJ story please let me know.
  17. Proposed H-E-B store to be boon for Texas Medical Center By Cara Smith | Thursday, September 15, 2016 | bizjournals.com The neighborhoods just southwest of the Texas Medical Center are some of the city's most needy grocery deserts. But a proposed grocery store from San Antonio-based H-E-B Grocery Co. could change that. Councilman Dwight Boykins, who represents District D in Houston, has been working with H-E-B for roughly three years on developing a 60,000-square-foot grocery store at the intersection of Interstate 288 and S. MacGregor Way near Brays Bayou, the Houston Zoo and the Texas Medical Center. Boykins said the city of Houston is interested in purchasing the nine-acre tract of land at 288 and MacGregor from Houston Community College, which bought the land in 2013 for roughly $13.6 million, according to the Houston Chronicle. The city recently applied for a roughly $12 million loan under Section 108 of the U.S. Housing & Urban Development Department, Boykins said. The $12 million would be used to purchase the land from HCC, and the city of Houston would lease the land back to H-E-B. Under projected lease agreements, H-E-B would probably pay off the land in around 30 years, Boykins said. Of course, nothing is concrete. The H-E-B storefront has been in the works for years, but no contracts have been signed and nothing is finalized, Boykins said. "H-E-B has invested its own resources into this process and showed their level of commitment. But it’s not done yet," Boykins said. "We’re grateful that H-E-B did environmental studies and more without contract. That shows their commitment." Jazz Hamilton, who leads CBRE's retail division, called the move a "no-brainer." "This is going to be great for this area, as it has been needed for a long time," Hamilton said. "H-E-B has been trying to get a larger unit in West U for the last few years and has not been able to assemble the right tracts, so this is a no-brainer for them. I’m sure this unit will be a huge success, like most of their other stores." Most recently, a public hearing for the proposed H-E-B was held on Sept. 7 at the Judson Robinson Jr. Community Center. Around 300 District D residents attended the meeting, Boykins said. - snip - http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2016/09/15/proposed-h-e-b-store-to-be-boon-for-texas-medical.html

  19. I still don't know where this is. Is the project actually located on S. Post Oak Lane? Thought it was near the 1700 block? Anybody know what landmark bldgs are near the site? I went down S. Post Oak Lane where the Four Leaf Towers are, heading towards Woodway and I couldn't find it.
