  1. The James in the background of CM on 09/03/16 The beer department went upstairs and gave me a CM "bartender style" bottle opener! I'm so lucky! CM is the best
  2. Knocking the walls down Not sure what this is. CM has Yellow Rose on tap. Might swing by this afternoon and have a few pints. Get a tab going
  3. I didn't know where the project was located. I drove down S. Post Oak Lane until I saw vacant land. In between the two BLVD Place centers there is vacant land. The vacant land looks to be separated? One piece of land belongs to BLVD Place and the other is the Hanover site? I don't know.
  4. New signage went up! Performance Pain & Sports Medicine. At least I think it's new Photos taken Sunday, August 28, 2016.
  5. Sure, I may be able to stop by this week. I bank at the Schlumberger bldg on San Felipe. Need a check to deposit first though
  6. New site plans/elevations posted on Bellaire's website dated August 1, 2016. http://www.bellairetx.gov/documentcenter/view/18553 Swamplot did a writeup. I'm using their images because I don't want to crop/save/upload my own. http://swamplot.com/a-look-around-h-e-bs-planned-double-decker-parking-lot-and-single-story-store-in-bellaire/2016-08-29/ Tons more images in the Bellaire Amendment.
  7. Something took a bite out of a corner of CM I've been meaning to take a photo. I'll snap it tomorrow. Adore how you can see the BHP bldg in the background. Also The James River Oaks and Amegy Bank New kitchen equipment went in! (Well, I think the olive bar is new. The sticker also indicates as such?) The smaller items have new, double decker canisters.
  8. TxDOT Plans For $70 Billion To Fund Transportation Projects Over Next 10 Years By TxDOT Media Relations | Thursday, August 25, 2016 | txdot.gov AUSTIN – The Texas Transportation Commission today approved the 2017 Unified Transportation Program (UTP) with $70 billion worth of projects to help TxDOT meet the state’s growing transportation demands. The plan is the largest of its kind in the agency’s history that addresses capacity, maintenance and safety needs around state. The 10-year plan, developed with extensive public input, targets congestion in the state’s most-populated areas and includes projects to better connect the major interstates in rural areas with local roads and highways. Also outside urban areas, the program calls for enhancing and completing interstate highways, and addressing the continuing needs within the energy sector and along hurricane evacuation routes. "The actions today by the Texas Transportation Commission represent a historic investment in our state’s infrastructure,” said Governor Abbott. “Texans have sent a loud and clear message that they are tired of sitting in traffic, and this funding plan will significantly address safety, maintenance, connectivity and congestion on our crowded highways. The plan presented by the commission will allow Texas roads to keep pace with our population growth, provide much-needed congestion relief for working Texans and put the Lone Star State well on its way towards having a first-in-class highway system for decades to come.” “The Unified Transportation Program reflects TxDOT’s commitment to planning for and meeting the mobility needs of our fast-growing state,” said Transportation Commission Chairman Tryon Lewis. With more than $70 billion in total funding, the 2017 UTP represents a significant increase from last year’s 10-year plan, which included more than $33 billion worth of projects. The bulk of the additional funding will come from legislative- and voter-approved initiatives to allocate portions of oil and gas taxes, sales taxes and other taxes to the state highway fund. Ending the practice of appropriating state highway funds to agencies other than TxDOT and the passage of long-term federal transportation legislation also contributed to the additional funding. The new funding in the 2017 UTP is largely allocated into program areas that address safety, maintenance, congestion and rural connectivity needs. It includes funding for all 25 TxDOT districts and 25 metropolitan planning areas throughout the state. http://www.txdot.gov/inside-txdot/media-center/statewide-news/22-2016.html Love this image. Unrelated. BHP building is awesome
  9. Noticed this on Sunday. The brick and bike racks are new. Looks like a 2nd area for shopping carts as well.
  10. They added a elevated post to direct traffic and (maybe) hand out water. Something is going on with the front windows CM has recently started two fruit-infused water fountains. Free to the customer walking in. Hopefully that stays and it's just not a hot summer thing. Exotic water fits Highland Village shopping experience. It's CM's yearly Hatch Fest!!
  11. Here are some cool shots. I take photos multiple times a week but don't post them. Too many changes going on! CM <3
  12. Hey thanks for the info about the Mid Lane project. Great news! My weekly update: Their wordage is always clever and perky! A new elevation render wraps the barricade. Again with their clever phrasing Energy bar area being worked on. Health & Beauty department. Spoke to a partner yesterday. Some news.. Health & Beauty department is taking over the floral refrigeration spot. Beer & Wine department is getting low profile shelving. Heard the low profile shelving has its positives and negatives. The front of the store will be expanding 40' into the parking lot (if I understood that correctly.)
  13. The most recent Houston Business Journal featured a story on the remodel. The (current) CM with a building rising in the background. I'm not sure what building it is though. Probably one of those rising residential towers off of the West Loop? The Wilshire at River Oaks District? The Arabella? Any insight would be helpful! Construction indeed started this past weekend! A section of the parking lot near Westheimer Road is blocked off. A construction tag on the barricade fence indicates that SpawGlass is the contractor. I also hope they remodel the bathrooms to be fully automated. Touching things in public bathrooms is gross A basic H-E-B in Meyerland was just remodeled after last year's flood. The bathroom is now completely touchless. It's all sensor activated. If H-E-B did it for that store, I'm sure CM's remodel will be so much better (or equivalent.)
  14. By the way, I used to work for an architecture firm near the Galleria. I signed up to HAIF when I was employed with them. It's been 6 years since I left the firm and I can't remember my registration email I used when creating my (original) account. I probably used the company's email? Probably cannot retrieve my account information then. I'm not a complete noobie I go to CM biweekly. Healthy eating and architecture are hobbies of mine so I'll be covering this thread a lot. Cheers!
  15. Noticed a few things this morning while grocery shopping. They (temporarily?) moved the lotion area in the Health & Beauty department. The left over shelving is old and gross! Surely these will go once the remodel furnishings take place? Hopefully they don't skimp on the budget for new shelving. I understand once products hit the shelves again, the stains will hardly be noticeable, but they are still old and gross. They have a sign near the entry way about their $10 million renovation. This is the most official statement I've seen to date. Couldn't find a press release 5 days ago. Just the media outlets reporting it. I asked customer service the plans. She said the work will begin next weekend! The staff has known about the potential remodel for a 6 months but they were just told official details this past week. It was out of nowhere she said. Spoke to another partner today. They mentioned it would be nice for the $10 million to trickle down into the wages of the employees. No pay increases or bonuses were given, (yet.) Another partner was kind of criticizing the huge money investment. Saying Central Market could have opened 2+ more stores with $10 million.
  16. I go there biweekly too! Amazing news! Hopefully the remodel doesn't mess up (current) parking or ease of shopping. Go Central Market!!
  17. Checking in for the native thread. @ DrFood: Thanks for the information. That would be awesome if it was all true. @ hbcu: I agree. Walmart closing would be a profit-loss, in my opinion. Does anybody have any renderings of the Luby's or the Kohls? Hermes Architects are doing the Kohls, but I could not find any images. There is a project board outside by the feeder of 610. That should have a render on it
