We looked at homes in that area because they were more economically feasible. But after living in the Woodlands for three years, it was just too far away from everything once again.

TW has a concern that RF will be a bypass for the 1488 traffic.
Good I hope it will be used. Woodlands Parkway needs some relief.
-
I don't care what they do to the place to pretty it up. You couldn't hold a gun to my head and make me shop there.
Oh wait......
Its Greenspoint. My bad.
-
You still have to beat the site to make it work just a little.

HAIF goes Reality TV...........

They have put them on the Woodlands Stopway now.
One car ran through the light last night and the thing went off. I dunno, the flash was pretty big and distracting. I wonder if there have ever been wrecks caused by that.

My Mexican National neighbor told me they were disgusting with CISD....that the white kids should be REQUIRED to learn spanish so they could communicate with them.
Hubby ran and hid. The room got really quiet. I just did the old school "oh my" response. In my head I was popping a cap in her ass.

Parrot said they put the flag out IN PROTEST of the Fourth of July.
Ok, I have no problem with flying another country's flag, but if its done to protest the VERY REASON that they came here? Doesn't that bother anyone? They are killing themselves to get over here for the freedom that holiday represents. Why spit in the face of it?

I really haven't liked the look of any of the new Kickerillo developments. I just can't imagine spending the type of money they charge on a house made out of putty, with palm trees in front, next to ones that look exactly the same. All those homes just look so out of place in Texas. Galveston maybe, but not Katy or the Piney Woods.

Katie go have a strong margarita. it will help the situation.
HA! That is ALL we do up here.
Its become the adult member family motto for the past three years: "Have a drink and try to forget about it."
-
Its not fully back up though. And they are about 24 hours behind on posting new listings. Many pictures are still missing.......yet it has upgrades. Lot search and Spanish search.
I have found a couple other engines that are a little awkward but at least they are loading in new MLS listings with in a few hours for public viewing.

I just sum it up the fact the burbs ain't got no soul.

When we were looking back in 2004, it was more like $1200.
$2800 sounds more like Carlton Woods or a a similar higher-end section. I don't believe the majority of the Woodlands pays that high of a fee.
Mr. Football. They base the association fees in The Woodlands on what your tax appraisals are. So, its an association tax. With the new hikes we will be over 3000 next year. I would consider us a mid-range home in Sterling Ridge. I can't imagine what the really elborate Customs pay. Everyone gets EXACTLY the same types of services, but as the home value goes up so does the association fee.
Carlton Woods is subjected to this also PLUS they have pay an additional fee. I thinks its like another 1000 a month. NOt sure on the amount though.
-
Its back up at 80%. It looks different and has a lot of new features. Lot size search..YES!!! ............ Most recent listings aren't on yet though.
-
Its depressing. We were having showings almost everyday and since Har has been down, nothing for 5 days. Also I notice that very little is being put on the market since its been down.
ziprealty has been a help in the meantime. I like the lot size search which HAr doesn't have.

Our elementary school in the back is loaded with them. Mexican Plates galore in the carpool line. However, I thought one had 30 days to get Texas plates. MOst of these people have been here since before Christmas.
-
Are they moving all the employees there or just closing up shop?
-
The ziprealty.com site is pretty good and it lets you search by list date. So its sort of a "new listing" option. Bad thing is, doesn't look much was put on in our search area (2 houses in two days). I've never seen Central West or Memorial this slow before in May.
I think we are going to be heading for a townhouse lease until the stand off it over.

Bach, yeah the parks parks parks parks. And if you want to use the pools that association fees pay to keep up, you can buy a 60 dollar pool pass for each person.
Seriously though, we rarely use the parks. The pathways are now on high traffic roads and if you don't like traffic noise, you don't use them. Trash pickup once a week at the curb for the fees we pay is a little silly. County keeps up the roads. Many other issues I can rant about, but we are moving so what's the point.
As far as the aspects around the home or dealing with residency, compared to Tanglewood and other inner loop neighborhoods, they provide very little for 3 times the amount.
Bach, I pay 2800 a year in associaiton fees. If I paid 500 maybe I wouldn't delicate flower so much, because that would be a good deal. The association feeing process is very socialistic.

Memorial Villages (excluding area around Gessner), West Memorial and Tanglewood/Briargrove. No one is really selling. They are adding on and staying put.... or they want 2 million dollars.
-
www.txrealestatecafe.com seems to be a good temp solution. At least they are accurate on status.
-
Have you tried www.realtor.com
basically the same info, just nation wide.
Yes, but I find it cumbersome and they don't remove "closed on" properties or give status. I am rather hooked on Har.com's "new listing" option. In today's market where things sell in hours, it is very accurate and they seem to post them as soon has they go in the MLS.
-
They might have banned your IP address ... just kidding.
Oh good grief its still down. I am going though major withdrawl here. I am wondering if MLS is down also because I haven't heard anything from our agent either about new houses on the market. However, nothing seems to be coming on the market AT ALL this summer in our search area that isn't cornering a major road or right near Gessner.
Things that irritate me

Well they wouldn't pure and simple. The US just rolls over and let people use it.
I was at WAMU the other day and had forgotten my deposit slips, so I grabbed one from the box. I went completely cross eyed. It was swimming with words from both languages, and due to the way Spanish is, it was the majority of the words. It literally took me a minute to figure out where to write what. I parked my car and went into talk to the bank manager. He claimed they had to make this switch because a large portion of their clients is Hispanic.....This is The Woodlands.
What about the other large portion of their clents.........the 70%+ that are American??????????????
Go to a country learn their language. Respect their culture if you are going to USE THEIR SYSTEM. IF you are goingto drive on their roads, register your car and pay for that countries inspections. Don't demand special treatment OVER those born there. Assimilate Don't Dominate.
