  1. I'm not sure, but we can get a pretty good idea of the current status and the expected growth trajectories from these maps.
  2. More like 500,000, but your point stands. It is only around 7% of the population of the entire area and not adding anywhere near the numbers as the areas outside the Loop (despite what it may seem like to those of us who live inside the Loop and focus on urban growth and development.)
  3. I think this is going to be rentals. My impression is that, to the extent they use the word "condominium" at all in Australia, it does not necessarily mean ownership as it does to us here in the US.
  4. Not to mention, the skyline really has no connection to the amusement park story. Gotta love the Houston media. 🙄
  5. They may have been a bully in the whole HQ2 search process, but walking away when the city and state start balking at doing what they agreed to do does not strike me as bullying behavior. There is plenty of egg to cover plenty of faces on this fiasco: Cuomo, DiBlasio, Bezos, and all of their respective staffs and assistants who were involved in this.
  6. Mayor Turner has been talking about (and, one presumes, working on) this for a couple years, at least. This just came out this morning: http://www.fox26houston.com/news/mayor-proposing-creation-of-permanent-amusement-park-in-houston
  7. Dallas may have a "more complete rail transit system" by number of miles and number of stations, but last I checked, Houston still had a higher percentage of people using transit.
  8. Yes, but I'm pretty sure that is separate from the apartment complex. I think the plaza is being developed/built by the Midtown Management District
  9. Camden McGowen Station? I think it was completed almost a year ago.
  10. The name on the groundbreaking announcement (MacGregor Market) indicates that it will be one of their hybrid "Market" stores, similar to the Montrose Market at Alabama and Dunlavy.
  11. I have no idea what is going on with that piece of land, but that seems like a low bar for "eyesore".
  12. The FAA documents include site elevation, height of the building above grade and total height above sea level. The 549' is the height of the building above grade.
  13. No. Read my later post. The Emporis height is the completed height of the building according to the filings with the FAA.
  14. Interesting... CTBUH shows the following: 1. 2929 Weslayan. 533' 2. The Huntington [sic]. 503' 3. Market Square Tower 502' 4. One Park Place. 501' I'm a little skeptical of CTBUH's 533' for 2929. I doubt it is taller than Market Square Tower. Market Square Tower has more floors. Emporis's 468' seems more likely. Edit: after further research, I discovered that according to the FAA filling made by the builders, the final height of 2929 is 468' https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/public/publicAction.jsp?action=showDashTwoForm&suppCaseNoticeID=258539117 1. The Huntingdon. 503' 2. Market Square Tower 502' 3. One Park Place 501' 4. 2929 Weslayan. 468'. It looks like the incorrect 533' is a leftover from an earlier "estimate" posted on Emporis.
  15. Source? (Emporis had it at 468 feet) You are correct. I overlooked One Park Place. Edited my post to correct.
  16. Pretty sure the Huntingdon (503 feet) still reigns as the tallest residential building in Houston. Second place is One Park Place (501 feet) Third place is Market Square Tower (498 feet). I believe 2929 Weslayan at 468 feet is currently the fourth tallest residential building in Houston. I suspect The Preston will be at least the 2nd tallest residential in Houston, very possibly the tallest
  17. The article says this will be at Main and Clay. So I guess it will be on the ground floor of GreenStreet's parking garage.
  18. I think there are quite a few higher, possibly starting with Hanover Post Oak next door 2929 Weslayan 2727 Kirby One Park Place Dominion Post Oak Arabella etc.
  19. How can I read deleted posts? Edit: I see it now. That swtsig's initial post and "like" was all in a different thread from the one I was looking at (there are two threads on the Sakowitz block redevelopment). Good tea-leaf-readiing there, H-Town Man.
