TowerSpotter
Well before we say yay, lets just see how it looks when it's finished. Edited August 16, 2013 by TowerSpotter
Alec
Pictures from this evening: The red/orange brick seems to be balancing out the mustard a little. I'm still not sold on the bottom level of large tan bricks; They look more suitable for a soil retention wall.
feufoma
Man, this is looking cheap and underwhelming! I preferred the empty lot.
Jax
I definitely don't prefer the empty lot, but it could have been better...It's not an amazing location right next to the spur. At least the spur isn't incredibly high traffic like 59 but it is pretty ugly. I'm just glad we got something on this lot. It'll make walking along richmond to wheeler station a bit nicer with the updated sidewalks, and actual people being there. It will probably make the area a bit safer too.

TowerSpotter
Yikes, I don't like this at all.
fatesdisastr
The first day of it's Grand Opening someone from Haif needs to walk in there and ask someone why their building is so ugly.
Alec
I noticed that the nails/screws holding the white trim in place haven't been puttied or painted over. Is it crazy to hold out hope they will be painting them some other color? I can't picture a color that would tie together the mustard, brick, and tan, but damn, something has to change. cloud713
saw this in person today.. it doesnt look as ugly as it appears in some of the previous photos.
kdog08
Nothing to take away from this except another undeveloped lot bites the dust.
Fortune
It looks better in person, always nice to add density to a area.
Specwriter
It is nice when architecture is a "good neighbor" but if I was paying rent (subsidized or not) to live in an apartment I would care more about how it looked on the inside than the outside. Several residential buildings along Park Ave. in New York look very plain on the outside but are quite opulent inside.

GoodToBeMe
Pardon, but I am new to Houston... and before I dismiss this as just another blase' project... what is the location of this thing? Thanks in advance.
Nucleareaction
Pardon, but I am new to Houston... and before I dismiss this as just another blase' project... what is the location of this thing? Thanks in advance. It's on Richmond on the Montrose side of the 59-Downtown Spur. Close to Brooklyn Athletic Club & Shipley's. Good to see the density there, but it's hideous every morning I drive past it :/
treblelino
Looks like urine and brick.
Jax
I've seen worse but I'm definitely not loving it.
kbates2
I don't see what the big deal is. It doesn't look good, but it doesn't look bad, it's just kind of there.
HoustonIsHome
Nothing wrong with it. It's better than an empty lot.Why all the whining?
fatesdisastr
Nothing wrong with it. It's better than an empty lot.Why all the whining? I'd take an empty lot, and at least have hopes that something more attractive would take its spot like a gas station. Btw, what is up with the different bricks on this thing?
HoustonIsHome
A gas station? Why not go all out. Let the weeds grow in then let some goats graze on the property. Illegal dumping would be nice, so the rats would have something to build a fort out of.
sevfiv
I can't remember if I posted this back then, but here's a picture of the 4211 Jack St. apartments right before they were demolished: http://arch-ive.org/archive/4211-jack/
Howard Huge
I'd take an empty lot, and at least have hopes that something more attractive would take its spot like a gas station.Btw, what is up with the different bricks on this thing? It was cheaper to do it that way.
