Cleaning Stone Tile In Showers

Okay, I know this sounds weird, but I have no idea what I should be doing. In my 1 year old new home I have stone in the entry-way and shower. Entry-way is pretty easy to clean with just a light cleaning solution, but I am concerned about soap scum and water deposits in the shower.

What is the best way to clean my tile (the big 9-10") that line my shower. Is there a certain cleaner I should be using? I am not talking the little ceramic shower tiles, but the new, natural stone looking ones.

While you're at it, any suggestions on cleaning the glass in the shower (which is already starting to show signs of water deposits).

I guess the previous owners never showered or used some sort of cleanser I am not aware of.

Hard water and soap scum sometimes can be removed using dishwasher (not dishwashing) detergent.

Be sure to use rubber gloves, and test a small area first.

That's interesting. I often use dishwashing liquid to clean the tub. I figure if it is good enough for my dishes (glasses, ceramic) it should be good enough for my sink (ceramic) and tub.

But I will try the dishwasher liquid.
