toxtethogrady
Count 'em. Not one, not two, but THREE port-o-potties! You can never have enough seating...
Popular Post AREJAY
You can never have enough seating... They must really believe in that philosophy, because there's actually FOUR on site now. Moving along nicely... Have a crawler crane on site and starting some rebar work

Popular Post AREJAY
Great news guys, They moved two of the port-o-potties across the site for MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY. Oh, and it looks like the foundation is coming along too...
Houston19514
Not sure if this has already been posted. FAA cleared this building for 489 feet.
wxman
What's the threshold to be considered a highrise? Is it 400'? Isn't 500' considered a demarcation for something?
Twinsanity02
These designations are somewhat artifical. I think it has to do with location. Muleshoe Texas a highrise is 150 to 200 feet. Downtown Houston I would guess the 400 to 500 foot range. But then again I would not call a 350 foot building a midrise. Anyone know for sure? brijonmang
I don't know if it's something I saw on Emporis or some other website but I have always thought it was anything over 12 stories is considered a "high rise"

Alejandro
The International Building Code defines a highrise as a structure with 12 or more stories above grade, or more than 75 feet in height above fire department vehicle access. There is a further special definition for super tall highrises above the 420 foot height limit with more restrictions for egress and life safety requirements. The City of Houston has yet to adopt the 2012 IBC which has much greater restrictions for super tall highrises.
Popular Post AREJAY
This one should start going north soon. It looks like they just delivered the first section of crane mast. Edited October 20, 2015 by AREJAY

Twinsanity02
I used to work construction ( back when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth). If I recall correctly we did not pour concrete if there was a serious rain threat. Anyone know the guidelines these days?

bobruss
All of the weather reports I've seen the last two days have said the rain would start tonight after ten so I don't think it will be a problem. Not that the weatherman is always right but he's usually pretty close. He also says it should be over by twelve tomorrow so the Houston Vanderbilt game will be dry!!!!! Go Coogs, and since Fertitta is on the U.of H board this isn't off topic.
Montrose1100
So Strange how he was talking about a bad forecast for the Houston economy and then all of the sudden he's buidling a huge mixed-use project on his compound. I wonder what the ballroom will looks like?
rsb320
I've been told that rain helps cure the concrete.
