Popular Post hindesky
Turns out the two tower cranes on this site were both taken to the Caydon site in Midtown according to a Heede tower crane rigger putting up the crane there.

Twinsanity02
Definetly think your dream will come to fruition. Of course the area around the west side of Hermann Park and Rice will be high rise free.

mattyt36
I'm sure this is somewhere up in the thread . . . but can someone clarify what the intended uses of the two different structures will be? The hotel and residences in the taller building and a medical office building in the shorter one?
EllenOlenska
I'm under the impression the short one is the hotel, and the tall one is the residences, full stop.

mattyt36
What’s the story of the Enron-like pedestrian skywalk? Which one came first?
MarathonMan
The TCH pedestrian skywalk came after Enron’s. Circa 2011. I think it was done as part of the Women’s Pavilion addition. Edited April 20, 2018 by MarathonMan

ArchFan
I'm really underwhelmed with the design of this building. But ... it's OK for people to have different opinions. Actually, I feel better to know that some people like it.
ArchFan
One more thought: I've long felt that the architecture in the TMC is a lot more bland and uninspired than the rest of Houston. And that's even though I think we've been slacking in the rest of Houston since the early 80s. Aside from individual buildings, I get the impression that the TMC's ongoing development doesn't really follow an attractive overall plan. I'm sure that there are people giving some sort of guidance, but it doesn't seem obvious to me from what I see.

bobruss
I agree, and the impact on the southwest and southern views of the med center are heavily impacted.
