houstontexasjack
533' is fairly tall. This already has quite a presence looking at it as one drives over the big bridge over 59 on the West Loop. I am looking forward to the windows and other parts getting filled in.

mollusk
Very nice composition, Urbannizer. Not that it's a surprise, but that place sure does have some wide open views.

JoninATX
The tower looks great. You know if they ever demolished that AT&T building. I wouldn't miss it.

mollusk
Is it just me, or does it seem like AT&T cornered the market on featureless tan brick buildings?
jgriff
Is it just me, or does it seem like AT&T cornered the market on featureless tan brick buildings? They were built to house communications equipment. They don't need windows.
cloud713
Some of the laminate is peeling back and you can see the true color of the facade. A slightly less intense blue. It looks good..

fernz
It's hard to see on the picture, but the railings look really cheap in person, very flimsy. The vertical supports don't even line up with joints in the panels...

'Stonian
It's hard to see on the picture, but the railings look really cheap in person, very flimsy. The vertical supports don't even line up with joints in the panels... I'm not a fan of the railings mainly because I think they will partially block the view as you're sitting down in your apartment.., but I do agree they look like thin flimsy perforated sheet metal.   Also, still not sure about the paint color they decided for the facade.  Withholding final judgement until I see the finished product with the glass skirt around the first few floors and all of the blue plastic removed. Maybe the sun will reflect the balcony railings and give the tower a unique look..., we'll see.
xsatyr
They don't line up with what? I didn't think they looked cheap. He is saying the vertical railings for the balconies do not match with the vertical linings of the panels placed over them. It's like staring at a hung framed picture that is crooked. It's kind of an eyesore. Edited September 27, 2014 by xsatyr

You can't really see in from outside the car, but from inside you can see out just fine.

But my best guess for why the balcony railing supports aren't all lined up with each other is the fact the balconies shift a bit on each floor plate. LarryDierker
Think he means this. The panels don't match up with the railing. Every balcony, they are a different distance. Â
monarch
somehow, i am thinking that these perforated railings, are just a temporary safety measure. Â imo, the original conceptual design is forthcoming. Â this is a massive project, we may just need to be patient. Â remember THE SOVEREIGN, it took forever to complete... but the detailing is immaculate.
cloud713
Those perforated railings are definitely permanent.
Tumbleweed_Tx
they're not supposed to all be perfect, that would ruin the flowing design of the building
