cottonmather0
Passed in front of me going south on McKinney as I was waiting to cross at Travis and looked just like this one, except there was a Google decal on the door. Also, surprisingly, California plates. I just figured they brought the equipment in and slapped it on a local car. Not so, apparently. editor
I guess that way they get a whole bunch of roads between California and Houston.Or maybe they rented a car. Sometimes they have funky license plates.
Dan the Man
I was behind one on Kirby in River Oaks a few months ago. I guess the footage didn't come out, since my car doesn't show up in any of the images online.
Trae
Crazy if they drove that far. Maybe they were streetviewing the entire way.
Porchman
If they're re-filming, I hope they might find a different street in the Heights other than Durham. Uhhh, maybe Heights Blvd?
rps324
They did half of my nieghborhood, (Glenbrook Valley). Stolitx's and Toulouse's are both on there. (So it anybody is too lazy to drive out and check out the hood, you can now do it on line from the comfort of your own home). I wonder what criteria they used to determine what areas to film? technoevil
That car passed by while I was standing in the street loading my car in front of my friends house up in the Klein area. His house still isnt on street view yet and that was in March.
Transco
I saw something like that over the summer. I think the decal could have said "Microsoft". I'm not too sure though-- my memory's hazy.
JustMefromLA
I also saw one with the "microsoft" logo. it was on the West Loop South
houstonmacbro
Have you seen the new (beta) version of Google Earth? Amazing, some of the street views and mapping. I love the little bubble effect that kinda pops you into the street.
stan the man
Google Earth's Street View is great stuff. I even managed to come across a picture of my house. But I have to say, these people practically live in their cars for weeks out of a year...given the cost of gas prices and hotel service these days. Rammer
It's prolly a very interesting job though. I bet they've seen a LOT of things out there. The Google Earth street views are amazing...I still can't believe they came down my insignificant street in Spring Branch. However, they really dropped the ball in not thoroughly covering the Heights. I guess the Google truck driver didn't ask anyone from the Chamber of Commerce about where he should go - since he went to Fondren Southwest, Alief, Gulfton/Renwick, etc.
