TheNiche
I guess that's why I decided to live in the Museum District, walking distance of rail, hermann park, all museums, and a few restaurants. I recommend that every new researcher in our lab move into my hood but they all move into apartment land (south of the med center) and then complain about how much they hate Houston because they can't walk anywhere. I don't blame them for finding their neighborhood boring but I am always surprised that they chose it above more interesting parts of town that are also convenient to the med center.Money talks. Montrose1100
Anyone else feel like a majority of the new Medical Center Buildings look like they were designed in 1999?. The shapes and some set backs make it more modern, but the facade is very turn of the century. Edited May 23, 2011 by Montrose1100
feufoma
I like the overall design but haven't noticed any lighting scheme at night. Does anyone know whether some lighting is going to be part of the design?

Highrise Tower
I forgot where exactly I read this, but there is a planned sky bridge from 1MC over Brays Bayou into their North Campus. I just cannot figure where they would place a sky bridge as TECO's power plant is across the bayou. Didn't we see some TMC3 renderings with the helix park extending over the bayou? Probably unrelated. Project Name: Brays Bayou Sky Bridge 1MC to North Campus Estimate Start Date: 7/2024 Total Cost: $30,000,
Highrise Tower
There's a garage remodel taking place. Possibly a remodel for 1MC itself.

There are two TMC3 renderings that show a bridge extending from 1MC (or TMC3) over to the North Campus. MDACC is also doing a bridge on the opposite side of the Helix Park across OST. Highrise Tower
1MC will house the UTHealth School of Public Health for $100 million for the next 6 years? Confusing. Okay, while demolishing the old School of Public Health, and building the new one on the South Campus might be 6 years. Just kind of crazy how they would spend $100 million on a temporary build out.
