BeerNut
I have no reason to doubt the source considering industry/HOB connections. End of the month supposed to be last day.

I think you've made it clear in above posts, but just wanted to make sure haha.
BeerNut
Yes just the restaurant portion. I would ask for more details but someone commented that it wasn't supposed to be public knowledge. My guess is they plan to rearrange seating to focus on stage and retool menu for basic service. 1

Per their website, the restaurant still seems to be a restaurant, with no hint of a comedy club.

j_cuevas713
That's actually great news! Downtown needs a comedy club bad. I'm surprised The Houston Improv hasn't moved Downtown yet.
Popular Post X.R.
Tom's did a soft, soft opening on Saturday night as said by their bar manager. Went there after the Rockets game. You don't know how nice it is to be able to walk three streets and find a place to hang out with TV's facing the street and people sitting on the patio with generally good vibes. Food was fine, typical bar fare, burger was good, etc. Good/great drink specials. The bar facing the street/patio has a great view. They will be announcing this later, but they are going to be in partnership with the Rockets and will have the official pre-game location. Wish Crane and Co would hurry with the minute maid bars, the ability to make money is so clear. It was a clear funnel from Toyota Center to the bar, and about 30 mins after the game there were tons of people from the game there checking college football games, talking, etc. 10 1

Definitely exceeding my expectations.

Amlaham
Punch line Comedy Club, which is associated with the House of Blues, will open in September! It will technically have a separate entrance from the House of Blues. It intends to book at least 350 shows per year! More entertainment will be great for this area. https://www.google.com/maps/place/1204+Caroline+St,+Houston,+TX+77002/@29.7532882,-95.3649556,18.68z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x8640bf3ce70e79cf:0x4ba14150e2e84c33!8m2!3d29.753281!4d-95.3639934?entry=ttu 7

Houston19514
More info. The entrance to Punch Line will be where the HOB restaurant entrance was (not Foundation Room, which is still also a restaurant) (1204 Caroline, to be exact; the address included in Amlaham's map link). Construction/remodeling is evident when one walks by.

hindesky
Rebees, a Texas-based real estate firm that took over managing GreenStreet this spring, plans to launch a revitalization next year of the 610,000-square-foot retail and office complex that spans four blocks between Main and Caroline. Construction on the first phase, with an estimated cost of $10 million, is expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2025. Rebees' plans to convert the development's two-story building, a onetime Forever 21 store, into a 22,000-square-foot collection of restaurants with a roof-top patio. Repositioned storefronts and new signs will reorient visitors through an alleyway of unique retailers, local restaurants and entertainment venues. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/greenstreet-remodel-redesign-downtown-houston-19807664.php 5

Brooklyn173 Posted yesterday at 02:55 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:55 AM This sounds a little like Caydon's (remember them?) Plan for the Laneways in Midtown. From an old press release: "Laneways will feature walkable, transformed alleyways full of life and flooded with cafes, street art, high-end restaurants, indoor and outdoor settings, speakeasy bars and an eclectic mix of high-rise residences and boutique hotels." i liked the idea then, I hope it gets realized this time.
