sarahiki
Does anyone have experience with strand bamboo flooring? I understand that is extremely hard and durable, but I'm concerned because I've also heard that the surface scratches easily. It is very smooth and shiny, and scratches would really show, I think. I'm trying to decide among a number of flooring options. Bamboo is an attractive choice because it's sustainable, very hard, and relatively inexpensive. But I've got kids and I'm concerned about this scratching issue. THanks for any advice!

RCH99
It's a fad that is fading........maybe by the time you would finish installing "by yourself". Any and all wood flooring has the potential to get scratched up. Bamboo flooring is a great product. Kids can crap out any flooring they set their sights on. Keep some extra pieces from the same lot for repairs later, and go for it.

texas911
One thing I don't like about bamboo is that its all super processed and the fake sheen like laminate does. But it is a solid wood flooring.
