Gary
That's some exciting stuff. I would love to actually see the city begin it's plans with Buffalo Bayou. I know it's been said but it's such a great resource that is not being used to it's potential.

kjb434
The Collective is still a go. Contracts are being worked on and the retail tennants are being confirmed. Most of the retail will be restraunt space.
sevfiv
not to be pessimistic - but some of these places are....weirdfor example, you can go to the Club Quarters (if you are a member, of course) which is right next door to the Montagu Hotel (you can get your "other" services there...heh), the Raiders Lofts (old Plaza/Days Inn) which needs more work than it seems anyone can put up money for, or wander down to Stowers, which is next to the West Building (if you know where this is, you know what i am talking about...heh).and does anyone know if the Shamrock Tower in any way referring/in memorial to the Shamrock Hotel? ToolMan
the Montagu Hotel (you can get your "other" services there...heh),My friends and I went to the Montagu Bar a couple of weekends ago for the hell of it. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! They wouldn't even let us in the door at 1st, but finally let us in after we begged them to. They have the door locked. sevfiv
i would like to go in the hotel just to say i have been in there - i like that they kept the hotel cotton inlay at the door, and the barely readable hotel cotton sign on the top of the back of the building (although now that i think about it, it is there probably due to laziness or neglect rather than for any historical significance...heh... there are a few buildings around there that keep me in the area once in a while to check out progress, etc., like the texaco building, texas state hotel (now club quarters), stowers, and west/beatty building - i have heard of these plans to renovate the west building - we'll just have to wait and see

YakuzaIce
Sorry for kind of bringing up an old thread, but seeing as how I couldn't find a dedeicated thread for the Empire, I guess I will put it here. I passed by the Empire (right next to the Manhattan), and there is construction equipment and a crane on site, so I presume it is under construction. In other uptown construction news, the building next to I believe 3000 sage is at around 8 stories (didn't really count), and the Hilton Garden Inn seems only a couple months from completion. Some of the facade is up, etc..
