mfastx
I wouldn't mind big bix stores in midtown if they are an urban type. With maybe a parking garage.
houstonartstudent
At the bottom of that Chron.com article:"Still, Midtown has yet to see any significant new retail, retail broker Ed Page said, referring to big-box stores like Target, TJ Maxx and Best Buy."WTF... a TJ Maxx or Best Buy in Midtown? What an idiot. This made me curious about looking into urban Targets, and I found a version they call "City Target" (the target part just being the bullseye logo)...they are slightly smaller than your average Target, reducing items like "bulk-sized toilet paper" and things that take too much space. I love the architecture I've seen from locations in Seattle/California and really hope they'd consider moving into Midtown. But yeah...nothing to do with 3101 Smith Street I guess...sorry
lockmat
This is not my photo, but it's the exact same view I saw this past Monday in downtown Chicago http://constructbirmingham.wordpress.com/tag/target/

Purdueenginerd
a bit more modern than some of the recent 4-5 story complexes. Could use some color though. Gray with a side of Gray
infinite_jim
I like the corner wrap-around balconies.

Nucleareaction
It may be the rain and cloudy skies, but driving home earlier this evening I noticed those rendering colors look nothing like what it actually is. Will try and get photos tomorrow.

trymahjong
Funny but the top floor terraces on the right side of the renderings were cut back to one door wide instead of a door and window wide. Plus no Garage entrance to parking on that side---Wonder why? Edited May 7, 2014 by trymahjong

Yes, rendering shows northeast corner, picture shows southwest.
Purdueenginerd
Looks like on the rendering they messed up the vertical white columns location (on the right side of hte building), didn't mirror it. Oh well, still looks pretty damn close.
