asubrt
I'm sure this is obvious by looking at the state of construction, but this will not be open for the Final Four as originally planned. Now supposed to open in September or October per the Marriott website (not sure if this was posted before but I didn't see it)

UtterlyUrban
It may have been mentioned earlier in this thread but, who owns with hotel? Is it the "city" like the Hilton or is it owned privately?Just curious.

HNathoo
This is private - the developer is Rida Development. It may have been mentioned earlier in this thread but, who owns with hotel? BigFootsSocks
What's up with the blue paint that's on the exposed concrete facing (downtown) east?
Nate99
What's up with the blue paint that's on the exposed concrete facing (downtown) east? Some kind of sealant, I would guess, but I have no authoritative reason for knowing that to be true. BigFootsSocks
Ah that makes sense, but why paint it? I guess there's going to be some sort of glass or curtain wall going over it?
Nate99
Ah that makes sense, but why paint it? I guess there's going to be some sort of glass or curtain wall going over it? I figured either that the sealant was that color to begin with or they used that particular pigment to get the desired color effect once the translucent glass curtain went over the top of it. Or maybe the color effect is the only reason. BigFootsSocks
Oh ok so there is a curtain going over it? That makes sense, although I don't understand why they didn't just make an extra room or two on that end.
bobruss
I have been told that the sides with the blue surfaces will be a solid material and not glazing. Morris tried to dissuade them from it but they decided to go cost cutting in this area.
Kreskin
I was told by one of the construction workers at the GRB today that they will be lifting the sky bridge that connects the GRB to the Marriot hotel this Saturday morning (Dec 5th), if anyone's interested. Kreskin(1st time poster, long time lurker. Thanks to everyone for all the great photos and info!)

UtterlyUrban
According to the webcam the skybridge is up.Yes. I should have posted a note. The bridge, on Monday or Tuesday, was essentially installed. I walked by and saw it. At the time, it did not look "fully installed" but it was self supporting across the span. Nate99
I just had a thought. For the SuperBowl line Houston with Beer trucks you can buy stuff from.  Just not Big Red. No one should ever buy that.
