JLWM8609
I drove by yesterday and saw some rebar going up for support columns for what I assume will be the 610 mainlanes.
kennyc05
People say that Houston is complacent but the city is always improving its infrastructure.
texas911
Who says we're complacent? Just the opposite. We tear down our history with no abandon. I love that Houston is an incubator for creativity. Granted that we get some ugly ass stuff, but we get some great stuff too. I like the recent trend of "modern" style over the throw back fake historical look. Houston has always been a forward looking city. Wish the common architecture embraced it not just the big dollar projects.
Highrise Tower
Any ideas on what's going on with the Fournace exit? Is it closed due to this project? Off topic, but this morning's traffic was terrible!

I look over in Austin and see some really nice "common" architecture going on and wonder why can't Houston have the same.

Highrise Tower
There is now a small structure below the 59 North spur. Hard to see what's going on under there! Wonder if the FAA has issues with a drone flying above 59 -
cspwal
Looking at the charts, the 59/610 interchange has restricted airspace starting at 2,000' above it. However, since it's a densely populated area, in a plane you'd have to fly at least 1,000' above it. I'm not sure about the rules for a drone.

Highrise Tower
Seeing two columns rise. One is near the height of the Westheimer spur! Wonder what the machine is doing on 610 near Bellaire? Seems a bit out of the way. Think it's unrelated to the Fourance exit project?
Highrise Tower
610 & Westpark and the 59 spurs is closed for the weekend. 610 is at a halt. Wonder what they are doing? They've been prepping all week, storing their stuff in the HCC parking lot.

Highrise Tower
Interesting. Now there’s a concrete barrier on the far right lane heading up to the 59 North spur. Wonder if that was placed there for the weekend project or if it’s permanently placed there for the next few years. Traffic will not like this. Highrise Tower
Westpark Exist Closure is something else. People are now taking the Bellaire/Bissonnet/Fourance exit which is backing up 610 right there. It's noticeable in my morning commute
Highrise Tower
There sure is a lot of machines on 59 South. Bring it

Highrise Tower
The freeway pillar on the 610/59 spur by the HCC campus is sloping down. I know, or at least hope, it's by design.
Highrise Tower
While in a Lyft, I got to take photos of the neighborhood freeway barriers going in on 59 South near Chimney Rock. Same thing is happening in Bellaire, on the 610 feeder.

por favor gracias
I love how it's going to take 6 years to rebuild this intersection when it took less time to rebuild what is now 23 miles of the widest freeway on the planet.
