Nate99
I dunno, the finishing touches in the renderings seem to make it blend right in. Hopefully that is what happens Agreed. All part of the plan.
toxtethogrady
So it looks like the second half of the building has yet to start. Then the garage will be a centerpiece.
UtterlyUrban
This building has been under construction for, what?, 18 months? Is it just me or is it progressing quite slowly?
toxtethogrady
AND NOW... WHY IS THIS PROJECT TAKING SO LONG...Believe it or not, there is a four-story hotel on I-45 near the Woodlands that got to cladding 12 months ago and has been stuck there ever since...
HoustonIsHome
This building has been under construction for, what?, 18 months? Is it just me or is it progressing quite slowly?I don't think it had been going that slowly. Didn't they have to demo, site prep, etc before foundation and going up?So it looks like the second half of the building has yet to start. Then the garage will be a centerpiece.center piece literally or figuratively? It might end up being both if they do it right.
HoustonIsHome
Looking back they started the actual construction back in March so this isn't that slow. It's only been 11 months. I think the street running down the middle might have made things go a bit slower
tigereye
So it looks like the second half of the building has yet to start. Then the garage will be a centerpiece. It looks like they're about to start the other half. On the Crawford side, they've started throwing up the first pieces of metal framing for the apartment building. On the La Branch side, foundation work for the other side is visible through a hole in the fence wrapping. What can't be forgotten is the Prairie half was essentially a staging area for the project. That's why it was delayed. Edited February 9, 2015 by tigereye

ZKB9
Isnt it well known that construction in Houston has labor and materials shortages because of all the projects? I'd bet that has something to do with it.
toxtethogrady
There is some thought the labor market may loosen up as some of the skilled hands come off the oil rigs.
LarryDierker
There is some thought the labor market may loosen up as some of the skilled hands come off the oil rigs. I assumed the exxon campus nearing completion would free up a lot of labor as well?

cspwal
Is it going to stay a solid wall of concrete?
hindesky
Is it going to stay a solid wall of concrete? No, hard to see from these pics but the apts are going to cover all of the parking garage. The apartments on the north side are only 1 story high as of now.

Nate99
And also the catalyst If Capitol Tower ever goes as contemplated, that would fill in another hole. DT is thickening nicely from many angles.
ANTHONYHTOWN
If Capitol Tower ever goes as contemplated, that would fill in another hole. DT is thickening nicely from many angles. That would be a plus and i also wonder if from that angle part of market square tower would also be visible.
