It's possible the restaurant could open by year's end. CultureMap previously reported MoneyCat anticipated a September opening. But that's come and gone:


"Tobiuo Sushi chef-owner Sherman Yeung will open this modern, Japanese-inspired restaurant in the same Upper Kirby mid-rise as Kiran’s. Scheduled to open in September, Moneycat will serve a selection of sushi as well as both hot and cold dishes, many of which will be made with locally sourced ingredients. True to its name, the entrance will feature a wall of money cats waving at patrons."

In recent weeks, MoneyCat has posted teaser photos of select dishes. This could be a sign it's close to announcing an opening date. But then again, I may be wrong.

Excellent question.  (And I hope by "back" you mean the current front, on the freeway side.  Add structured parking there and move the front door to the park side and create some open/park/amenity space where the larger surface parking is...)

I was in this hotel around 2015/2016 and they did their best to update the hotel, however the ceiling heights seemed extremely low. I'm really surprised they are remodeling this building instead of tearing it down and starting over. It's on a large piece of property and it's an oddly shaped building.  I would think it would make more sense to start over from scratch and build a larger building with higher floor to ceiling heights.

Gaspachos is coming to the Kirby Grove mixed-use development. It replaces Love Shack at 3709 Eastside St in Levy Park. The Houston food truck is known for its Mexican snacks and fruit drinks. 

I don't know when Gaspachos will open.

They’ve been serving the park from their food truck for a little while now, doesn’t excite me for my taste but good for them. Now we wait to see what replaces the Woodshed restaurant.

So they’ll actually be serving food and margaritas so this is exceptionally more exciting for me 😏

Something tells me this is going to be a very cheap conversion. Maybe a new paint job and landscape but thats it. Might even leave the parking lot as is. I pass by this place all the time and it looks like they're moving at a really slow pace, or just don't plan on doing much.

I don't know I mean Levy Park has it's name on it and it looks like they're just gutting the building at the moment. A small company outside of Seattle is tackling the conversion. Their profile is small but clean and neat. And to be honest, I trust a company doing this coming from that area compared to some good ol boys here in Texas.

I think the former Woodshed space in Levy Park is leased or in lease negotiations. An entity was recently filed for Hearsay at Levy Park LLC. Maybe the restaurant is expanding to 3728 Wakeforest Ave?

At present, Hearsay has two locations in downtown Houston and another in The Woodlands.
