IronTiger
Not really a "photographing Houston" in a traditional sense, but today, or possibly yesterday, Google updated its views of Houston for fall 2012. The new H-E-B in Montrose and the Walmart at Washington Heights are all visible now. Other changes are there, too...
Golyadkin
Judging by the progress on BLVD Place in the new maps, the new images were taken mid-October.
SkylineView
I noticed the same thing... the number of empty lots that disappeared from uptown was staggering.
LarryDierker
Dynamo Stadium is on there now too. Thanks for the heads up.
ToryGattis
Dynamo Stadium is on there now too. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like they've got a glitch there: it's on the satellite footage, but when you zoom in enough that it switches to aerial photography, it goes back to being an empty field. They need to try to sync up their aerial and satellite updates... Zoom from here: http://goo.gl/maps/kypMW
barracuda
Apple maps has Dynamo stadium in 3D, which is pretty cool to rotate and zoom around. Unfortunately, Uptown does not show up on 3D yet.

I'm looking at a grass field in downtown, zoom one step and I'm looking at the old ymca.
brijonmang
It looks like the googlemaps-mobile caught the big apartment fire from earlier this year on Dallas street.
