sevfiv
The only one I've heard of - it was located about where Houston Ave. meets White Oak bayou and was around from about 1880-1890: http://arch-ive.org/archive/schmitz-vineyard/ http://www.arch-ive.org/houston/schmitz/schmitzvineyard_001.jpg
sinister1
It says on the flyer that it's located near Glenwood Cemetery Which is on Washington Ave. so it would have put it near the 6th Ward.
kylejack
This maps it out. http://arch-ive.org/archive/schmitz-vineyard/
sevfiv
Yeah when I was trying to narrow down the location the Glenwood reference made it difficult (probably the closest large landmark) but it made sense that the Beauchamp Springs and White Oak bayou location references would be more exact (plus, it was undeveloped/streetless on the maps)
sinister1
The Old City Cemetery was the closest to Beauchamp Springs; but I could see it being there because of all that land in that area back then but then again there was a lot of land around Glenwood too, if I'm not mistaken there use to be a plantation where Glenwood sits now. Too bad they didn't put an actual address on there.
