asubrt
Hate to say it, but this building is pretty ugly. I didn't have high hopes based on the renderings, but from Hines this is kind of disappointing. The grey brick especially looks bad from a distance. Oh well.

Drove the Bagby/Spur onto 59 South and the real positives are the modern deep blue glass and blending into the area. You have brick & earthy brown tones with Memorial Hermann breaking it up. Great infill, good from afar, but far from good. My hopes are that Randal Davis stays far away from this area.
Popular Post MarathonMan
Personally, I like it. It's not earth-shattering design, but it's quality work. It's got class.
HoustonIsHome
I agree with MM. I am not a fan of the base, but I like the building overall
JoninATX
Personally I like it. To me it's not terrible or anything and is somewhat unique. You have the lighter earth tones on the side as someone mentioned, with a darker brick facade on both front and back.
KinkaidAlum
It's a bit drab. If this was by Randall Davis, it would be considered a home run but I have higher expectations for Hines' projects. That said, Hines' first residential project in Houston was rather underwhelming (the midrise on Westheimer @ Shepherd)
lockmat
Did they run out of time and money when they were designing the south side? North side is above average.

AREJAY
http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2017/03/22/photos-tour-hines-luxury-apartment-tower-in.html Quote The Southmore features a variety of units, ranging in size from 850 square feet to 1,900 square feet, with 14 penthouse units on the top two floors ranging from 1,450 square feet to 3,000 square feet. Rents for the average units range from $2,200 to $6,400 per month. Penthouse rents range from $5,500 to $13,000 per month. Which may explain: Quote Greystar, the property manager for The Southmore, has leased 14 percent of the units so far, including four penthouse units. The tower, which opened earlier this year, is currently 6 percent occupied.
