Tumbleweed_Tx
we kid about this one taking forever, but, it's moving faster than other projects, like the Davis project near Minute Maid.I took this picture two years ago today:
Twinsanity02
This thing is a rocket ship compared to the HSPVA non-building.
HoustonIsHome
Lol, so they just gave up on naming the building?I like the sign, but that is just so lazy.
cspwal
I like it better than an address, and I'm kind of glad they left a name available to someone else: "The Lofts on Leeland"
Urbannizer
Alliance Residential has a naming scheme going on (Broadstone Midtown, Broadstone Post Oak, etc) and even though this is pretty similar to their other projects around town I too like the name. I'm sure it will bring one to be more curious about block numbers Downtown as well.
cspwal
Website has been updated http://www.block334.com/ Rents starting at $1495 w/ 1 month free. A little more than I was expecting considering it's not a hi-rise like it's neighbors, but there are also no studio floor plans Edit:Just noticed the interior shots aren't even of the right apartment building - it looks to be Broadstone Midtown Edited February 18, 2016 by cspwal
astros148
way to expensive. they will have alot of competition with skyhouse, they are giving great deals. They were offering 8 weeks free with a 13 month lease.

HoustonIsHome
I guess it's like they say, good things take time. Skyhouse went up like a bullet but I heard there were a lot of problems. Let's hope this one is structurally sound
cspwal
The only thing they really have to do now is some finishing up on the corner of fannin and bell, and finish putting in the sidewalks. They put in the sidewalk along Leeland and tore it up and put a new one in, but it leads to a pile of dirt at the corner
brijonmang
They put in the sidewalk along Leeland and tore it up and put a new one in, but it leads to a pile of dirt at the corner BMX ramp, not a pile of dirt. #multiuse

Sparrow
Untitled by Chris Rojas, on Flickr I'm having a really hard time understanding why they would put balconies two feet up from street level. There's a certain security factor that is hard to get over with an inner city street level patio. Why not just increase the interior square footage of the first floor units? EllenOlenska
From a purely practical standpoint, increased-footage first units would seem fantastic. Maybe with a door open to the street? Security-wise it's the same thing.
bobruss
In Chris Rojas's first image in post 516 I find it most intriguing that every building in that image is either residential or a hotel. What an incredible change in downtown Houston for the better!

cspwal
There's a window decal on the Main street side - "Making history again" Anyone know the history of this block?

j_cuevas713
Yeah that long construction time always has to do with money. If you can space out how you pay for the project over a certain amount of time, the developer has more leverage in case anything goes wrong financially. The contract was given to the lowest bidder of course but in return you sacrifice how fast it gets built.
astros148
Is it normal to leave job material like that completely unattended for the day? I even saw some homeless people taking some bricks, not sure what they plan on doing with them but looks pretty unprofessional. UtterlyUrban
Even glaciers move ahead, albeit slowly. Any ny idea when this one will have its first tenant? Are they leasing now?
Tumbleweed_Tx
Bum + brick = broken window somewhere, and a warmish place to sleep
