Add that with the possibility that Chevron could vacate 600k+ sq ft around the same time in the Allen complex and I think we can officially say 5 AC will never happen. Residential projects include a 397-unit apartment building near Minute Maid, set to open in 2015, and a 24-floor residential tower called SkyHouse Houston. The latter, which carries a $60-million plus price tag, will include 336 units on Block 350. In anticipation of the 2016 Final Four, Houston First is working with Rida Development to build a second convention center hotel with about 1,000 rooms. New office buildings are also on the horizon. Skanska is in pre-development work on Capitol Tower. New office towers are also in the works at Hines Block 69, Brookfield's Block 902 and Block 43. Just wondered if anyone knew about it. Seems to be a lot of activity on the north side and along the new rail lines. That way they have more room to work with and gives the tenants some state of the art space in nice building(I think Hines should let them own it like a condo deal so they retain ownership of the same amount of space they originally occupied to entice them to say yes). I'm not sure which "1-2" story building your talking about, but I'm glad they are building around the 10-15 story buildings on the east side of the block, creating a multi building, more "urban" setting. A few people were upset about Hines not building around the Texas Tower at 609.
