InnerLoopOnly
I'm a little verklempt! Talk amongst yourselves... I'll give you a topic: Clear Lake, it's neither clear, nor a lake.
skwatra
true, but it used to be clear. and depending on your definition, it can be considered a lake:1. A large inland body of fresh water or salt water.
kjb434
Does clear have to indicate the appearance of the lake? I don't see Buffalos in the Bayou in downtown? I don't see bears along Bear Creek? For all we know, the guy who named the lake and creek saw it on an extremely calm day. Also, the lake is blocked from Galveston by flood control structures and lock for boats. The water surface in Clear Lake is set by man. The Great Hizzy!
50% of the time clear lake looks pretty blue to me. It's only when there's a long storm(s) that the "lake" gets that browinish hue to it due to the run off.But tend to agree that Clear Lake more resembles a small bay given its relationship to Galveston Bay, which feeds it. Houston19514
Where do you (any of you) get the idea it is not a lake?
MidtownCoog
Actually, Clear Creek feeds Clear Lake. And Armond Bayou, Turkey Creek and a few other I can't remember.
