Urbannizer
https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/05/21/developer-hanover-river-oaks-retail-component-will.html When complete, the 40-story Hanover River Oaks off Kirby and Steel Street will make for a better pedestrian experience, said David Ott, development partner with Houston-based Hanover Co. The project broke ground in December 2017 with the first units delivering in early 2020. Ott said the residential high-rise with first-floor retail will link existing developments such as West Ave. to new projects, such as San Antonio-based H-E-B Grocery Co.'s mixed-use project to be developed by Houston-based Midway Cos. Ultimately, the stretch of Kirby extending from West Alabama Street until the West Ave. development will be more walkable, he said. So far, no businesses have signed leases for the 10,000 square feet of retail space but Ott would like to see a mix of cafes and restaurants that keep the ground floor busy for most of the day.

mls1202
Is there ANY hope that the Bed Bath and Beyond is going to be torn down and redeveloped? This seems like such a poor use of the land....

J Money
The Huntington is taller, I think it’s a touch over 500’

jmitch94
I can't wait for the garage portion to be done. This thing is just creeping along.
Highrise Tower
Big parking garage. Maybe it's taking longer than Caydon because it's a different design? I've been preferring two-way garages lately. Can notice the garage, from the garage.

Moderators
That tall white building is the Huntington former home of Enron CEO Ken Lay. Also I agree with the pace of high-rise construction in the Loop. The Inner Loop is morphing into a Manhattan District & 4 hours ago, Timoric said: So many good buildings have gone up in Houston and many more coming, when it is all said and done it seems like 2010s may surpass the 1980s in terms of buildings SF because residential has now stepped forward, office good amount added but resting (except new AA), and medical going strong. Would be a nice project to build a photo album of all the new stuff we have added (had a nice coffee table book in the 80s of our shiny new skyline back in the day). For example, that tall white building to the right had forgotten about it, yet it planted a flag in an area with no high-rises - places like Upper Kirby, Midtown emerging as well, soon it will feel like a giant city we can be proud of when driving around with out of towners these are exciting times to be a Houstonian. I liken it to being a New Yorker in the Twenties and Thirties. Witnessing their city growing into greatness.

No, that's actually Hanover Montrose, which opened in 2016. The Huntingdon would be off the screen to the left, up Kirby Drive.
