A few weeks before, Escada's Creative Director, Daniel Wingate, and Joseph Altuzarra were at the Crescent. I wonder to whom Rosewood will sell the property. Sellanious Caesar
These are all exquisite projects in DAL. I love the look of the Commune + Illume building and One Uptown the most. The Ross Perot placeholder design is extravagant too. Hope the Big D gets a supertall or two one day.
Sic'EmBears
4 hours ago, Sellanious Caesar said: Hope the Big D gets a supertall or two one day. That would be nice. However, imagine if a 1000' supertall were divided into three separate buildings, thus adding vibrancy and density to the respective neighborhood. In the near future, Uptown, Victory Park, LoMac, Harwood, West Village and Turtle Creek will run out of lots to develop, thus driving developers to increase the height of proposed buildings to offset higher land prices. I predict Dallas will get a new tallest building within the next fifteen years.
JasnoDTX
15 years is too long haha. Hopefully less than 5. They need to be creative on how to get it done. Its gonna have to be mixed use with residential like LA's Wilshire Grand.
Sic'EmBears
New apartment tower east of downtown Dallas will include Tom Thumb grocery store Steve Brown June 15, 2016 Quote A new grocery store and apartment tower planned on downtown Dallas’ near east side will bring Uptown-style development to the neighborhood. North Carolina-based Greystar Real Estate Partners will build the 10-story high-rise at Live Oak and Texas streets, a block from DART’s commuter rail line. A full-service Tom Thumb supermarket will be on the ground floor of the new building, which is part of Greystar’s City Lights development. Quote “We think that the grocery store could serve as an anchor tenant to bring other retail to the area,” Sparks said. “It will serve the east side of downtown, Deep Ellum and the Baylor hospital district.” Quote The Tom Thumb – which will have its entrance at the corner of Live Oak and Texas – will be served by an underground parking garage. There will be 365 apartments above the grocer, with a separate garage. Two large terraces for the apartment residents will overlook Live Oak and have views of downtown. Quote Sparks said Greystar plans to break ground on the project later this year and will deliver the building in 2018. Full Article
Sic'EmBears
How $36M of TIF funds will shape Beck's $4B Dallas Midtown vision Candace Carlisle June 15, 2016 Quote Next week could be big for the Beck family, as the city's economic development committee and the Dallas city council vote on $36 million of tax increment financing funds for the initial phase of the family's $4 billion Dallas Midtown mixed-use development. Quote This is precisely what the economic development committee and city council members have put in place, which is we will front the money to build public infrastructure and get a rebate on taxes back to pay for that infrastructure," Scott Beck, who is overseeing the development on behalf of Beck Ventures, told the Dallas Business Journal. "I would be shocked if it didn't pass," he added. Quote Beck has been working alongside Hillwood Urban on that group's plans to build a multi-tenant office building and couldn't be more pleased with the developer's plans. "We are waiting with bated breath for next week to get over this hurdle and take us to the next step," Beck said. "We've got to get these pieces done before the fun stuff can begin bringing in retailers, office users and all those things."
