Project Location 45 floors. That's what I'm talking about! This will be taller than the museum tower. Pretty much a skyscraper to add to the skyline. Hope it happens. We now we have 2 40+ story structures possibly going up. I just got back from uptown. The Bleu Ciel looks like an effing skyscraper. It's starting to become imposing. It helps thats it on a higher elevation. Katy Station turned out great too. I'm loving all of it! Good times. :} Thanks for the great pictures.
Sic'EmBears
AT&T will spend $100 million rebuilding its downtown Dallas campus Quote AT&T also will add 500 workers to its 5,800 employees in its buildings on the south side of downtown. Quote AT&T unveiled preliminary downtown design plans this week for the first time. The biggest changes are on the way at street level, where AT&T intends to expand landscaped plaza areas, and add eateries and shops. Quote The company also wants to close almost three blocks of Akard and Jackson streets to vehicles as part of the new pedestrian plan. Quote "We plan to have the whole project completed sometime in 2019," Peterson said. A new drop-off lane and canopy is planned along Commerce Street. The plaza in front of AT&T's headquarters will get new fountains, lighting and art.

And you're gonna gripe about one measly story on the Flora lofts? No one is griping about the measly story. The Flora lofts building (if it happens) will be a lovely addition to downtown Dallas. Just wanted to clarify. I knew you were aware 2121 Flora was not in fact a 40+ story building so I thought perhaps I had missed something. (FWIW, the 40+ in your statement was in fact in reference to both buildings. Otherwise the 45 story building wouldn't be "2nd 40+ story tower.") Sic'EmBears
300 apartments planned for Ross at Annex Quote Austin-based Cypress Real Estate Advisors Inc. asked for a zoning change that would bring the entire 1.7-acre property into the same zone. The property includes the Credit Union of Texas at 4600 Ross and a couple of old apartment buildings. Quote Zoning along that part of Ross is permissive for the type of dense residential development we’re seeing: It generally allows multiple stories and narrow setbacks of 0-15 feet. Sic'EmBears
More townhomes on the way. 62 townhomes planned for Fort Worth Avenue (rendering from previous development) Quote City Councilman Scott Griggs broke down the rezoning proposal point-by-point, which you can find below. The proposal is asking to allow “single-family structures to be detached,” which would allow separate homes with a shared driveway. Quote The company doesn’t yet have solid plans for the property, Brickman says. But the firm has several other townhome projects in Dallas, and they “put design first,” he says. Sic'EmBears
Downtown’s Trammell Crow Center tower gets a redo and major addition Quote The owners of the 32-year-old post modern high-rise are about to begin substantial changes to the building -- including construction of a retail, hotel and parking structure across the street. Quote "The idea is to pour light and life into the heart of the building and encourage foot traffic between the Arts District and Ross Avenue," said March, the development manager. The redevelopment will bring more than 30,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space to the two blocks, which are just south of Klyde Warren Park. Quote "We are going to land two or three full-service lunch or dinner options that law firms and investment banks are going to want," March said. Quote The most notable change will be a 50-by-80-foot glass and metal entry atrium, which will extend out to Ross Avenue. Quote Dark wood and stone that now lines the lobby will be replaced with lighter-colored wood, stone, metal and glass. Quote The Ross Avenue side of the building will be enlarged with two new retail wings that will extend toward the street on three sides. "It effectively pops out the ground floor of the building," Marsh said. "We will have about 8,000 square feet for two restaurant outlets. The corner of Harwood and Ross we have really reserved as our full-service upscale dining option." Quote The original plan was to build additional parking for the Trammell Crow Center. But the project has expanded to a major mixed-use development. Quote But the same building in the first phase will house 26,000 square feet of retail space plus a 200-room boutique hotel. A second phase of the development will add a 400-unit residential tower. "The skin on that building has a lot of glass and metal and sculptural quality we think will make sense with the Arts District," March said. "It won't look like another parking structure." Quote Construction will start this quarter on the new building on the south side of Ross, and work on the Trammell Crow Center renovations will be underway by midyear. The project is set to wrap up by fall 2018.

Sic'EmBears
Trump Hotels CEO doesn't 'see any reason' U.S. expansion can't grow threefold, including a Dallas site Hotels Quote President Donald Trump's hotel-management company wants to expand its namesake luxury hotels across the U.S. while it holds off on new overseas business, its chief executive officer said. "There are 26 major metropolitan areas in the U.S., and we're in five," Trump Hotels CEO Eric Danziger said after a panel discussion Tuesday at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in Los Angeles. "I don't see any reason that we couldn't be in all of them eventually." Having Trump hotels in 26 cities would triple the current total. Trump's company manages eight namesake hotels in the U.S., some of which the Trump family owns. Danziger, who joined Trump Hotels in August 2015, said that Trump Hotels is considering opening luxury properties in Dallas, Seattle, Denver and San Francisco, where he started his career in 1971 as a bellman at a Fairmont hotel.
